Jason is a handicapped young man that my friend Dave rides from
time to time in his 1976 GL1000 LTD Goldwing w/side car. We ride out of a local
billiards hall in Dayton, Ohio. Jason's mom is Miss Vickie and she works at the
billiards hall. She's just recently purchased her own bike and is learning how
to ride.
Dave and I recently purchased 06 Goldwings this year. It is my
first Goldwing and Dave's third. There are lots of motorcycle clubs and other
organizations that put on charity events around Dayton and we try to ride as
many as we can.
My daughter Casey and her beau BJ were married in Maui
this year. It was on a Harley Davidson ride around the island with the in-laws
that made my wife Jules and I decide to get a bigger bike than my "Betty"
(Yamaha 01 FZ1).
We rode the Hana Highway (30 miles of 15 mph twists and
turns), the Pillianni Highway (washboard steep dirt roads in the dark, next to
ocean cliffs, cows in the road, falling rock, no road, the smell of pineapple,
lotus and Maui marijuana growing), 500 miles in 2 days - but that's another
story.
The Cuddle Bear Run is a yearly event sponsored by the Wright Lady
Riders, local chapter of the Women On Wheels. The stuffed animals (entry fee)
are given to police and firefighters for traumatized children.
Now that
I have GPS on my Goldwing, it
seems everyone wants me up front, so I had to make a good route sheet holder
from some stuff in my garage. Works good.
