Didn't buy just one, bought two

Bought a 1975 GL1000 for a couple hundred dollars, all of the parts are there, been sitting in the guys backyard for years. I know it was ill advised, but it's a red one, and needing of being saved.
Found another one a week later, 1979, Original paint, running, registered, well garaged, just needing timing belts, tires, general lubricating, and refurbishing. Drove it home
Parts are on the way, so the fun begins
This one is Blue, the 1975 in the back is a red one

A granfalloon, in the fictional religion of Bokononism (created by Kurt Vonnegut in his 1963 novel Cat's Cradle), is defined as a "false karass". That is, it is a group of people who affect a shared identity or purpose, but whose mutual association is actually meaningless.

I couldn't get the granfalloon, username, so I settled for a derivation.

Tons of good references, and handy hints. It has been raining here, so I have been out in the garage working on my projects.
The steering bearings (conical) were so badly gummed up from old grease the handle bars felt like they were on a ratchet. Bottom one was fine but the top one has grooves in the top outer race, so new bearings and races are the order of the day.
It had a Vetter fairing, and luggage rack/sissybar which came off first. I have the trunk and side racks off the 75, so almost have a full set.
I am sending the engine guards and headlight ears out for re-chroming (MLB Plating, in San Bernardino). They did a good job on my 1970 BSA fenders and odd brackets.
Starting a list for the rubber parts to replace while it is down for a while, so I am searching through the posts for any lists I might find to avoid missing something important.
I pulled the timing belt guard off and the right belt was very loose, I almost could pull it off with my fingers, dodged that bullet.
