Here is an installation guide with awiring diagram (page 3)for the 1977-1979 GL1000 fairings. At least you will know the fairing wire color codes. Not sure if the Gl1100 and Gl1000 used the same color wires.....

Thank's but the colors don't seem to match up, I would like to get a wiring diagram for the vetter fairing that's mtg on a 1980 GL1100, showing the colors for the turn signal wiring harness that match up with the bike's. Replaced the turn signal switch and lost the drawing I made of the wiring, can't seem to get the horn and lt. turn signal to work, Please help.

If it ain\'t broke it will be !

The horn wiring shouldn't be affected by the fairing as both the switch (button) and horns are on the bike. You may have to break out a multimeter or test light for the indicator.

I think thatat the handlebar switches you should have the Honda OEM wiring colors for the 1980 GL 1100 Standard and Interstate.
You will need to identify with an Ohm meter the contacts on the switches.

Horn Colors:
Green: Ground
Light Green: from the ground side of the horns.

Turn signal colors:
There are two sets of contacts. You will have to identify them. The first set of three contactssupplies power for the(front and rear) left and right turn signal bulbs. The second set of three contacts supply power to the front position lights until the turn signal is switched. Switch left, left position light goes out; switch right, right position light goes out.

First set of contacts: Front and back turn signal bulbs.
Gray: Connect to center contact. From the turn signal relay for power to left or right
Orange: To left side, front and rear, turn signal light bulbs
Light Blue: To the right side, front and rear, turn signal bulbs

Second set of contacts: Front position lights
Brown with White tracer: Connect to center contact. Power to front Position Lights until switched.
Orange with White tracer: To left side front Position bulb
Light Blue with white tracer: To right side front Position bulb

You didn't say anything about the Headlight Dimmer Switch or the Clutch Switch located on the left handlebar. I can give you the wire colors if you need them.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
