I have a 96 1500, I have been noticing lately that when I drop to an idle I have about a 200 rpm surge and then back to a normal idle. It does not seem to hurt anything but I would like to know what is causing it. I have been running seafoam in the last few tanks.

Agreed. Try leaving it off and open the throttle a bit, to make it easier to turn, especially if you haven't done it for a while, or ever.

There is a thumbscrew under the gas tank door. People have found that if you turn the screw back and forth and then set the idle it seems to clear up the surging. Move it back and forth once in a while when you get gas and that should keep it free. If you have a hard time turning it, try turning the throttle a little and hold it open while you adjust the thumb screw.

If the idle adjustment screw does not fix the surge,, it could also be the choke is stuck slightly closed.

The things I liked,,,,I\'ve tried em twice!
