Go with an HID kit and skip all the messing around with different bulbs that will never be enough. PM Lopeha, he just got a kit for his bike and he is a pretty good shopper.

until you run a HID headlight in 5000K,you dont even know what headlights are

and as long as you use the slim digital ballasts you wont have any trouble with anything electrical

Do not run a higher wattage bulb, the bike`s electrial wiring was not designed to handle the extra watts. Try a Sylvania Silver Star Ultra H4. A lot brighter than stock and same wattage. Also consider cleaning the lense. I couldn`t beleive the difference after I cleaned the lense on a friends 1200, I used 3M lense restore kit and followed their directions.

Clean the inside of the glass with Windex and the reflector with plain water and a very soft cloth. Then use one of the bright bulbs like the silver star.

Be careful inside the housing. None of that stuff is available through Honda anymore. Just the used stuff, and it is allin questionable condition.

Why ain't we ridin'?

Are you sure Dennis? I see it as available through BikeBandit and they get the parts the same place as your local dealer.
Of course the price of a new complete headlight which is the only way to get the housing/reflector is a bit pricey at about $600.

Advise given here is free and comes with no warranty "Caveat emptor"

My ride is a 1984 Interstate "Canadian".
