I have seen a couple of post here and on another board about Dodge Neon and Eagle Eclipse coil packs on GL1100's and GL1200's

But I have not seen anything definitive.

I have a GL1200 LE (Fuel Injection)

Has anyone had any success?

Thanks!

Ronnie

Yes it has been done on a 1200 I know of but not an FI model but it should not matter, same ignition coils as carbed.

Worked like gangbusters on my 1100. I had to lower the idle after I installed the neon coil. Jay

Cool, so should be a safe install? Just plug in as original is?
I am installing New wires, New NGK Resistors and Iridium plugs when I change out the coil pack. Current one is bad anyway.

Not sure if you are buying a new set of coils but if you search ebay for neon coils such as this one, you will see that they are about $30 for a new after market. I used a set from a junkyard and they were about $20. Still working fine. If I could have waited I would have paid an extra $10. Just my $.02
BTW mine were for an 1100.

Was planning on new, not a big $ difference as you said.
Used may have a few years left or may have a few weeks left.

Any info on how to switch from the bike plug to the 3 contacts on the new coil?
And how will I know where to plug in each cylinder on the new coil?

Here is a reference and again it is for the 1100. It explains the wiring. I am not sure how the 1200 is configured.

The wiring color scheme is the same on 1200s, yellow to the front cylinders and blue to the rear, black/yellow to the center wire.
