Ihave a 2002 1800 goldwing. I am wanting to change out the engine coolant. Service manual says remove right side pocket.{check} Did that. Remove radiator cap. {check} Did that. Then remove drain plug that is located just on the up side of oil filter. {check} did that. I am getting no discharge of coolant from the drain??????? WT. Dont know what is going on here. There is no mention of a pipcock valve or anything that needs to be opened. Any ideas for me about whats going on. Thanks. Dave

can you see coolant in radiator thru cap? Is there coolant in reserve tank? Has the bike been running hot? There may be an obstruction at the drain hole.... you may want to fish around in the drain hole with a wire to see if anything breaks loose and releases the coolant. Or pour some water in the filler cap and see if it comes out the bottom.

Don't want a deal with alot of flibiddy-flab or mumbo-jumbo...........

engine run temp is in normal range. coolant in tank is normal. just nothing from the drain. i did fisf around a bit with a small screwdriver to see if pluged but did not break anything loose. so i guess next question is this because the screwdriver blade did hit something without going past the plug threads. how deep should something go into the plug hole before hitting botom, so to speak?

Make sure you took out the right bolt

Should have been a sealer washer that came off with the bolt.

If it has never been changed it could have crud built up in the drain. It won't hurt to poke something up in there.
