Hi Redmanstl,

Welcome, when you say tank off the frame, are you meaning the the false tank on top or the actual fuel tank that is tucked down under?

If you are talking about the actual fuel tank, if it like a 1200 you have to take most of the rear of the bike apart, a major job.

Why do you want to remove it ?

If it's the actual fuel tank you need to remove, like Jim says it comes out the back of the frame. There are a couple of recent thread with photos showing what needs to be removed to get the tank out.

your wing was built "around" the fuel tank.. and must be removed through the rear.

You will become fairly convinced it doesn't come out for awhile before you finally do get it out, kind of like a Chinese Puzzle.

ya rideandslidejim, I never thought to do that thanks for the heads up, I have played around with that method before when i was making ahho generator.

However i did pick up some Evapo rust and it seems to be working ok, not as fast as my usual method of muriatic acid, crap load of bb's, and a whole lota shaken.

I have a bikeRally im trying to get to onMemorial weekend so i have eight days, to get it back togetherand test ride before going 120 miles@70mph.

" but this is not my first rodeo" i do this almost every year with some bike.

And with all the things i have to do its like having Goldwing Hanukkah.
