Valve noise GL1100I

Had the timing belts changed about 1000 miles ago. Have had what sounds like a noisy lifter in the right rear cylinder ever since. Took it back to where the work was done 4 times. The mechanic insists it carbon on the valves. 1000 miles should have cleared up a carbon issue.

I was wondering if I pulled the spark plugs, turned the kill switch, put the bike on the center stand and spun the motor over by hand if detect if the valve is hitting the piston? I really don't want to mess with the timing belt cover or belts if I don't have too. If I can find out if this is the problem I will return it to the shop that did the work to be fixed.

Any thoughts or other ideas on this issue? Thanks in advance.

Valves were set to specs by the mechanic. Made no difference.
