Need help replacing hi-beam headlight on '08 GL1800. I didn't have much luck searching the forum and tech board. So far, it looks like a monumental undertaking. Any assistance will be appreciated.

If you remove the fairing pocket you can reach in and change the bulb.

Need to take out the two fairing pockets. Very tight in there so I hope your hands are small. If not, find a small handed person.A little time and a lot of patience also is helpful.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the help. First, I lied! Lying is nothing new for me but getting caught so quickly is not normal.

It's the low beam. I had so much trouble getting the connector unplugged that I thought I was doing something wrong and I was afraid I was going to break it. I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Before I removed my head from my a$$ and realized it was the low beam that was bad , I did remove the faring pocket on the right side. That was AFTER I removed the "Wing" wind thingy brackets anda piece of plastic trim in order to get the faring pocket out.

Learning new tricks at this stage of my life is not nearly as much fun as it used be. One small scratch and I look like I've been inknife fight with OJ Simpson.

"Cruiseman" has a pretty good video on changing the low beam lamps.

Thanks again for your help. Be safe.

Low beams are simple. Pull off the rubber boot, unclip (only on one side, because it is hinged on one side) pull out the bulb and replace.

Watch when replacing the rubber boot. There is an arrow on it that should be pointing upward.

Good luck and patience is always helpful.
