Welcome to the forum Glenn1gordon
You didn't say what type acc?
If it is a LED light then you can put it on the accessory fuse lugs of the bike fuse panel.
Higher power draw you need to Add an aux fuse panel that is relay feed to protect the bikes wire harness from shorts so you don't loose the bike out on the road.

Hi Glenn and welcome to the forum. I too have just bought a 2012 and am learning new things about it daily. Which accessory did you put on it first?

There are 2 accessory connections, a 2 pin red connector above the left radiator and accessory screw terminals on the fuse panel. The 06-10 models had an extra 1 under the shelter that was not mentioned in the manuals.

Default Aux connectors

Sorry , I am installing a cellset Ass. which will allow me to use my cell phone through my headset . I found the 12 volts , and the headset connectors, but need the Aux. to use it in Aux portion of the comms.

There is a phono plug for the Auxiliary input to the bike's communications system inside the left fairing pocket.

At least that's where the 2010 and earlier GL1800s have them. I don't think they changed the location on the 2012.

'01 through '10' wings came with a harness (included but not installed), that plugged into that connector and had a RCA (think that's the correct term) jack on the other end to fit into an Ipod or mp3 player. I don't think it's included with the '12' models but you can still buy one for the older models and install it. It will run through the small rubber plug in the bottem of your left fairing pocket for easy access.
