Front Seal No Longer Does.

Crap and a half. Heading towards a head replacement and found this.
I wanted to slap the bike, but held my temper.

Two questions;
1: Is it odd that a seal would leak only on the one side like that?

2: 1200 seal (91201-MG9-005) is discontinued. However, 1500 seal (91201- MN5-008) is the same size, (35X59X8). Same seal, I presume?

So Dennis can you tell me?

Is the bolt hole in the image below part of the block?

Mine is broken off.
Auto part Tire Vehicle Automotive wheel system Automotive tire

So your going to need to pull the timing pulley to replace that seal, :frown2:

Jeff, are your referring to the bolt for the ignition trigger? MY bad I went back and enlarged the photo to see that yes that bolt is circled . I dont have a 1200 with the belt cover off at this time but I believe that bolt tower is a block casting.

Thanks for looking.

Yes, the bolt head broke off back in February when I was going to swap out the PG's.

Well, the PG was still stuck in place so I said screw it I'll change it when it's a problem

I figured it could wait but when it gets hot the PG's start failing.

So I've ordered new PG's and bolts.

When the PG's get here I'll be trying to extract that bolt.

Bike still runs but loses 2 cylinders when it gets hot over 90 deg outside and about 1 hour of riding.

So the broken bolt is stuck in the block :crying2:

It can be difficult to extract that bolt . I would drill an tap for a 5 mm bolt which would be more than enough for keeping the PG in place .

OK

I would be interested.

How much will you need per seal?

Will you have a minimum order of 5 or 10 seals?

I'd spend 30 - 50 on the seal/s just to have them when the time comes.
