Turn Signals do not work

I have a 1998 GL1500. The turn signals are not working. So far I have switched the flasher with the hazard. The hazards work with either flasher. All of the fuses are good. The horn does work. What is the best process to track this problem?

Had the same problem. Turned out it was a blade on the connector block that had backed out lightly.
Located above the left fan shroud I think it was a brown connector. It is the end of the turn sig switch gear cable that plugs into the main harness. If you go in look for any corrosion and inspect all the pins very closely.
Others will be along to help soon. Don't worry you'll get it sorted.

You will need to remove left fairing lower cover and trunk at the beginning.
Then maybe left handle bar for the switch.
Then maybe right fairing lower cover and the turn signal cancel unit in the steering column.

You should start with the following check list.

Thanks for the info. I will hope for the best and clean the switches. If that does not do it I will remove the left lower fairing and check the connections per the check list. Thanks again for the help! I'll keep you posted an what I find.

I did all the tests at the brown 6 pin connector. All was ok except the tests on the blue/black wire. There was always voltage no matter what I did. I grounded the blue/black wire and the signals would work, but not canceling them by pushing the button in. Does this mean the sensor in the front needs to be replaced?

Did you clean the switch? Are you sure you have continuity to ground on the pink while holding the turn light switch either left or right. (Be sure) Also are you sure you have ground continuity holding the cancel button in on the LT GRN/WH wire. (Be sure) If either of the two test to ground fail the switch might be dirty and it could cause what you describe. It is not hard to clean the switch. Just take it apart carefully and pay attention to all the parts so you can put it back the same way.

Did you check the blue/black wire when the connector was connected or disconnected?
