Led Headlight bulb...wow

Well I'm back, different thread, different purpose. Got the old wing running and riding great. Now on to some minor improvements.... switching all lights to LED. All 1157's all 168's and the headlight.

General rule of thumb to follow with colored lenses; use the same colored Led bulb.

Today's results: installed Led Headlight bulb. No modifications, plug and play. Went from halogen 55/60w @ 1000 lumen bulb to an LED 24/36w @ 4500 lumen bulb. Preliminary results are positive, will test tonight to verify.

Pictures are as follows first are hi/lo beam with old 60w bulb, then goes into installation, then beam and hi/lo beam pattern with LED bulb.

Also before the Nay Sayers come pouring in; got the LED bulbs for $28 for 2 bulbs. And the main point of this upgrade is to reduce overall amperage load on the old electrical system. The until corroborated fact that this upgrade will make me more visible is an a big bonus. Uncorroborated until tested, which I'm going to do before I make my sure recommendation.

thats the ebay and amazon link, but i ran into this set on amazon originally here and searched ebay for the same item. I got the original idea from a harley forum i follow, because what ever is good for the sportster might as well be good enough for the wing. 1 bulb for the sporty and the wing in one go.

Everybody keep in mind, those don't have a cutoff. To me, having the other drivers in my path be blind, is a bad thing. But if that makes the ride more fun for you...

cutoff? are you talking about the cup that halogen bulbs have? If that's what you mean, that's the only thing i wondered about as well. I'm going to adjust the light to point to the right a bit, rather than straight on forward.

Pattern focus looks pretty tight to me. I've seen much worse pointed at a wall

The question is how are they on the road? There are a lot of posts on LED headlights that they look great, but do not throw the light down the road correctly. This is because the LED is not in the reflective point in the headlight housing. Let us know how it works out.
