Question Fuel flowing out of vent

I had done a partial rebuild of carbs
of a GL1200I (new to me) because
fuel was flowing out of vent lines.
But after two weeks the problem
is back again.

When I turn the key on, I can hear
the fuel pump priming. But after
several seceits the fuel starts flowing
out of the air vent 'Tee port'

I am wondering if the floats are
messed-up is that is causing the
problem?

Garage
It has to be the floats or the needle valves. FYI aftermarket valves are pretty much worthless.

No, the "float valve", shown on that picture as #17.

First, make sure the floats still float!

I think this is correct.. "yes"?

Yes! I first will see if floats still
'float'

If float {one or more} dropped in bowls AFTER two weeks;
JUST maybe that is why fuel is running out air vent.
Could maybe when I cleaned carbs --- did not get all junk out

Knowing my lack of luck will dig into mystery and share findings

Sounds like your floats, aren't. That wing you got from me had the carbs rebuilt about 4-5 years ago by D&D in Tempe. It had the same issue, e.g. peeing fuel out of the vent. they said that the floats are identical with the ones for a 1500, and used those. Just a heads up.

A wing isn\'t an old mans bike, it\'s a wise mans bike. Often that wisdom comes with age.
