New to the site. I own a 99 GW 1500SE.

I am looking for some guidance on how to install the CB/Radio controls. The original control unit broke off. I ordered a new control box that mounts on the top left hand side. I can't seem to find the connectors that are at the end of the wire harness. Any ideas where these connectors connect to? What side and what do I need to remove to find these connectors?

Thank you,
Kevin

Welcome aboard Kevin. I'll look in my service manual tomorrow. I just changed both of my handle bar controls last weekend and to say it was a PITA is an understatement. Right now, I'm guessing that the connector plugs in the terminal block that is above the left fan, But I'll check tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum. The connector blocks are underneath the left-hand side glove pocket. Just take off the soft cover (the one held with poppers) and you will see 4 cross head screws that hold the plastic pocket in place. Take out the screws and wiggle the pocket out. There are also 4 bullet connectors underneath the rubber handlebar cover that operate the push to talk switch and channel change. Just remove the 2 screws that hold on the left handlebar cover remove it and all will be revealed.

Kevin, Your four wire ends should have Colored connectors.
1: 4 pin Black
2: 2 pin Black
3: 4 pin Brown
4: 6 pin Black.
If these are you wire ends, Then connect them according to the attachment below (two pages) . These connect to the terminal strip that is above the left fan. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to access the terminal strip w/o removing the left fan. THAT IS A PITA. I could not access the terminal strip going through the left fairing pocket. If someone knows an easy way to the terminal strip, I'm all ears.
