I called the dealer about a new front tire for my 1800 GW trike. He said they have been putting back tire Michelin's on the front and reversing them. Has anyone heard of that?
I have the Pilot Activ on the front of my 1500 trike, it is mounted forward. It has cupped some, and I am running 42 lbs of air in it. It is a noisy devil, but I think it is the cupping doing it. Next tire I don't know what I will do but I want something that is going to be quiet.
The Michelin Pilot Activ rear tire seems to be the choice of trikers and me too, I run them on my 2 wheeler. Handle great and last a long time but do get noisy which I can live with when considering it's strong points.
I ran an MPA on mine and it cupped around 11,000 miles so I replaced it with a BT45 Battleaxe. The BT45 is a bias ply rear tire like the MPA. They're supposedly both long wearing and the MPA is a little easier to steer than the BT45. But the BT45 has more of a traditional tread pattern to it. The mpa gets a buzz at some lower speeds due to its tread pattern. Both are good front tires for trikes.
i am running a kenda rear tire reversed on the front. it has about 1500 miles on it and can't tell it is worn any. it is a quiet tire also.
