It seems to go straight in, if at any angle it is very slight. I don't think the hole being slightly larger would hurt anything.

You won't see it inside the cylinder bore. When you know where it is, you still won't see it!

I took mine apart because my rear brake had siezed. I kept poking with a wire from a wire brush until I found it. It was blocked with gunk. Just make sure the wire is small enough in diameter. I don't think you would find it with a dental pick-type tool.

Good luck.

Tonight I go into the rear caliper to find the hole also. wish me luck! Here's hoping there's some hair around mine and it's easier to find LOL! I do know that if you drill it out your caliper will make a nice paperweight! It is this tiny for a reason and if it is too big you will not be able to retain the pressure needed to stop.

Allrighty good news. after boiling 5 times and still no hole i was beginning to wonder if it had completely sealed up, actually i still believe that. i went to harbor freight and found a pack called mini drill bits, they are very small, i think i used a .8?. anyways with some cutting oil and some extremely slow drilling with the drill press i drilled through. i put the rear mc back on the bike, mighty vacumed for ten minutes and bam the brakes are better than new (this is after i rebuilt the calipers as well). The tiny bit was just enough. if i can figure out how to download a pic i will now, if not tomo in the am. Thanks for all of your help and keep on wingin'!

I was referring to the master cylinder- I had good luck with drilling a tiny hole in the fluid return port. Have any lu:(ck with your calipers- if you need any tips I've done quite a few. Have a good one. Willis- Asheville

You may need to resize the picture. The attachment feature works for me at the bottom of the message page.

I recently had to put a kit into a clutch master cyclinder, and front brake master cylinder, for an 86 aspy and the return hole in both, wasn't that good.

I got a spray can of disc brake cleaner, and with a plastic straw, attached the nozzle I was able to clean the hole, and everything else with it. It even cleaned the gunk off the little window.

it dries quickly, and doesn't leave any residue.

good luck,

you are lucky that the hole unclogged that easily! maybe disc brake cleaner is the answer.

Willis,

Make sure, to prevent further issues, you replace the hose from the resovoir to the MC.
