ok hi every one as i said earlier in the week. i started working on my trike again this weekend first thing to do was make up the top mounts to support the rear frame work .these have to work in both directions to stop side to side and up /down movement of the rear frame work, note the triangle gusset plates for strength .the large off set holes round the seat mounts will be corrected later by welding up some of the hole.oops  Attachment: IMAG0203.jpg (Downloaded 246 times)

all so this week i have added extra gusset plates to the swinging-arm to axle plates to stop side to side stress on the axel mounts these will all so have an updated gusset added in weeks to come. Attachment: IMAG0210.jpg (Downloaded 243 times)

make sure you jump your tilt switch. my keep tripping so i by passed it. hope it handles well. i know mine rode much better the wider i mounted my shocks. nice fab work. thanks skoto already done it as it was playing up when i first got it and thanks to some one on the forum i found the fault. changing the subject but i have never ridden a goldwing trike does the extra weight make much difference to the acceleration compared with a standard wing? thanks glennuk

not much. depending on the gear you have in the rear end. mine was a 2:88 on the last one and it was awesome. couldn't tell much if any difference. course i never really hammered it anyway. then i removed the swinging arm so i could fully weld the joints and add extra gussets to the axle end top and bottom to stop side flex .the shocker mounts have had 3mm triangles welded under them this will give maximum strength with out the weight of thicker plates.same with the mounts they will have 6mm boss welded to the sides this will stop the shocker ripping the bolt through the eye (same as fitted to 1500 swinging arm) this is now common practice where weight and strength are critical .
