Started to work on the new center bow for the conv. top
Need it installed to be able to shape the blue felt over it.
It won't be used with the hard top installed, just the conv., if I can ever afford to get one made.
The bow came off a car in the junk yard & don't remember what .
Shorten the center then added a bar to slide the two together.
This way they can be apart to store behind the seats.
Drilled out the old smaller tubing I had welded in the roll bar before to install a larger tube.

This will be welded in & cut down after it's all setup.
Sanded the weld smooth.

The bow had rods welded on & smooth down.
Here you can see the two halves.

And here is the bow installed into the roll bar.

Next is to work on the top W/S metal bracket which will be bolted down with 2 - 5/16" bolts from the bottom of the frame.
It's a piece of S/S stock & I  got it bent . Need to bend it more by foot to match up to the center bow.

Anyway nice job and thank you for sharing.

I glad you like the 3 wheeler.
The Bradley GT II is another one of my LOOOG term project.
Good to met someone who made the body's so many, many years ago.
If you have any info of history about them please post it on the other forum below.

http://bradleygt.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=41&page=7

I stared with sheet metal, then closed my shop to work in a boat yard in Hawaii to understand the how to's with fiber glass.
They built large & small boats plus a lot of custom things, including a few jet models for the USAF display.
at Hickom AFB
I even built the Boss a custom car from scratch with a custom fiber glass body.
Most of what I know is from changes jobs a lot to learn more about everything.
Now I'm a jack of all trades & unpaid it all of them.

Been working on the S/S front W/S bow for the hard top.
Got it shaped & the outer edges welded.
Then line up the holes I drilled on the top of the W/S frame & drilled holes in the front bow.
Using 8mm flange nuts & bolts mount the bow to W/S & welded the mounting nuts.

Rear view

Front view

After a little more trimming I glue the blue felt around the new front bow & mounted back on the car.
There will a bubber seal under the front bow of course.

The felt pulled over the bows & roll bar.

You can see the shape I'm going for here.

Next will be to figure out the sides & mounting the rear window.

Getting ready for the resin.

One coat of resin to stiffen it up a little.

The 1st coat of resin harden, but the felt was still like a conv. top.
Applied 1 layer of 1.5oz mat, but left the rear window open.
Rolled it out , but very hard to get all of the (whit) bubbles out of it.
This will cure over night so I can think about how to put the curve rear window in.
Will need a lip for it to sit in.
Will lay 1 more layer then remove it from the car to see how it is.
Don't want to make it to heavy.
There will be 1 more layer of mat on the inside later also.

Went ahead & laid the 2nd mat tonight so I won't have to wait for it to cure in the morning.

Popped off the new hard top & gave it a quick trimming.
Here is the inside look.
Don't know why the pictures get the white spots sometime.
As the picture below came out OK!

Sitting on the floor.

[/url]

A lot of work still to go,
Getting the body & top ready to build the rear mounting ledge.
Laid alum tape on the body so it won't stick to it.

Got the inside lip done with 3 layers of mat.
Good time for a nap since I've been awake since 3:30 AM for no reason.

Merry Christmas to all

OK, that's it till Tuesday, ran out of resin.
Got the rear mounting lip done & removed the top.
Flipped it over & trimmed it.
Laid one more mat on the bottom of the lip.
Also did 2 layer on the front bow to close it off.
Used what was left and coated the felt on the front section.

Have you thought about using a self locking gasket for the back glass?

Did a little trimming & sanding on the top this morning.
Cut the space at the bottom rear to clear the 3th brake light.
I blew the rear window, made the angle on the corner to close & now that window doesn't want to fit.
So I these window off of some back door I may try.
This way make it look like she smiling! Or wearing glasses.

Could turn them over also.
They have a curve in them also.
Will mount with the locking gasket

Here's an inside shot to the rear, you may be able to see the mounting lip.

Let me know what you think of the back window?

Glued the 1/2" S/S tubing I used to shape the sides in, then used bondo to fill the gaps & give me a flat surface for what comes next.
Will use the 3/8" form & shape a rain gutter & window seal.

I don't know, those windows look like they got a lot of curve.  They don't look bad, but I'd almost say you'd have to contour the back of the roof to match 'em.  For me, that would be a deal breaker, but you seem to be able to work magic with fiber glass.

Starting to lay up the form to make a rain gutter & window seal.
Once these 2 parts are dry will be able to add the outside piece for the gutter.

This may give you a little better understanding as to what I'm up to :?
