hawynboynlv wrote:I bought a 86 GL 1200 Aspencade on ebay. The bike runs great but it didn't have a stereo. It had one at one point in time and it looked like some wires were cut on the harness on the left side of the handle bars. The speakers look like they were about 4" looking at the empty speaker holes. Would it be possible to install a am fm/cd player and if so can someone give me a clue on what I would need to make this happen. Go to goldwingdocs.com to get the manuals on the stock radio system for the GL1200. It will at least show you the wiring diagrams for the system.

That Kenwood is deck is 150w (I think), I'm running Boston 4" speakers with built in tweeters, I think they're 40w a piece (LTD has 4 speakers), I've been happy with the sound, but really, any 4" speaker should work. You may even try hooking up the stereo with you got and see how it sounds. I don't know what kind of quality the factory speakers are. That said, if you go speaker shopping at some audio shop, find out what you want, then go home and order them online. The speakers I got are $80 for 2 at Audio Express, I got 'em for $45 for 2 on Ebay with free shipping.
