I'd take a Bridgestone over an Avon any day.

I had a couple sets of Exedras. They were a little noisy but performed well enough. I did have the rear tires (3) split right down the middle. Only one lost any air, a slow leak, but it was of concern and of course, expensive. I've heard of others having the problem, too. I know that there have been some Avons have catostraphic failures on ST13s, but I don't know about on 'Wings. Have you considered the K-177. I thought those worked well on the 15s. The only Dunnies I've ever liked.

I've had Avon Venom'son my 1500 for 3 years +, and 9k miles. I like them- they are smooth, quiet, and handle well. + all Avons have road warranty-standard- as per an Avon REp at the Greenville, SC cycle show 3 years ago. But they started to cup around 4k- but the Avon rep says they should be run at 45-50 psi, and I was running less- 38psi before I spoke with him. I also usually ride 2 up and carrying a bunch of gear, and I ride hard- ride the Dragon & Skyway a bunch, and the roads here have lots a curves, and Avons have served well.

Big John - Are you saying that you ride hard for 9000 miles per year for the past 3 years...? Or is it 9000 miles in 3 years..? Avon Venom X needs to be run at 50 PSI but they are a good tire for the 1500's. The NEW BRIDGESTONE's are supposed to be good but I have no experience with them.... My last 3 sets were Michelin Pilot GT's but they are not available so I am now running the Darkside with a Vredestein Contrac 175 -75 rear and a Bridgestone BattlAx BT45 front (sport bike rear mounted in reverse)... Just waiting for the next Michelin for the 1500's....

I love my set of 'Stones. Over 10K miles and still holding up well. No cupping yet, either.

5 k the 1st year, 3k the 2nd, & 1 k this year. less riding and many more work hours the last 2 years. 1st year included a trip to Maine. Just enjoy the curvy roads a lot
