I took my wheels to powder coat. They returned the rear wheel because i must remove five rubber dampers.
How can I do this?
The final drive sits inside these five steel guides with rubber bushings.
How do I remove the large o-ring on the inside?

They don't come out and replacements are unavailable.

It can be done, I believe Lopeha had his '83 1100 wheels powder coated...

Welcome to the forum.
The dampers don't need to come out for powder coating, I know plenty of people who had it done and the dampers stayed in. The temperature doesn't get hot enough to damage the dampers.
If your local powder coater can't cater for this very common issue of dampers that can't be removed, find someone else who can.

Thank you. I spoke to the Powder Coating people this morning. I mentioned the advice to work within 375-400ยบ. He said it was doable.

Gaswing... how can I remove the large O-Ring on the inner housing? Its back towards the wall of the rim. Can that center piece be loosed or is it one piece?
