Ok guys, I've narrowed my problem of performance and gas mileage down to the pressure regulator on my 1200 ltd. Now I cannot fnd one to replace it. Is there anyone out here that has a solution to this problem? I thought I had one from service honda and ordered it but was notified it was discontinued. Please any help would be much appreciated.

Just giving you a bump to the top of the list.

What is the pressure regulator for? I don't think I have one on GL1000...

Later, Phil

You may have to start checking with bike breakers for one. There are a lot of them. PinWall Cycle Parts Inc is on Ebay and parting out a 1985 LTD now. You might email them about your part....

Since the 1500 Aspy is the first Wing I have any experience with I may be of no help or possible a little help at the best.

If we are talking fuel injection here I wonder if it would be possible to use an after market automotive fuel pressure regulator.  I know some are available in adjustable pressure models so you might be able to tweak it to work with your Wing.

Just a thought.

Thanks, your bike would not have one. The 85 LTD is fuel injected and the regulator contros the fuel pressure to the injectors. Again, thanks for the reply. Kenny

Thanks for the tip, I contacted whiteys classic wings and he is able to supply a used one:( I have found that the 85 Prelude uses one that looks identical. Think I will order it and see if it works. $69 for an attempt is not too bad. Kenny

You are so right about that, the 1500 doesn't have one.  What I was thinking was that I'm having a fuel pressure regulator problem with a fuel injected pickup I own and there are after market ones available.  I was wondering about the possibility you could adapt the automotive one to your Wing.

The one for a Prelude hopefully will work for you since that price is about $75 less than I can find one for my truck.

Would you mind sharing as to how you determined this is your problem? Not trying to be a WiseA$$, just curious....

Hi Jim, first off let me say that for all of you that were curious as to the 85 Prelude EFI pressure regulator fitting the 85 1200. I installed one today and it fits great the only difference is that the Prelude fuel connection is bent at about 45 degrees where the 1200 is straight.  placed a screwdriver into the inlet and ever so gently straightned it out to fit. I put it on the bike and it fired right up. I cant road test it yet as it is raining this morning to beat the band. The throttle response already feels much better. I think this solved my problem but will not know for sure until road testing and checking the MPG.

Jim I used the trouble shooting section of the manual available online through this forum. All of my symptoms indicated fuel pressure problems. I was going to check the pressures according to the specs provided but didnt have the proper connection for my gauge. It was just as quick to buy the new regulator and relatively inexpensive. If by chance this doesnt fix the problem the only other problem it could be (that I have not eliminated) is the throttle position indicator/switch. According to the manual this could also cause my symptoms. Saving this as last check due to the extensive nature of replacement.

I will post my results after road testing. Thanks to all on their responses and suggestions. This forum is invaluable to all who seek to gain knowledge on their bikes. Kenny
