has anyone ever heard of this? I took my GL1800 in for its first service. I also had them install a lighted make up mirror or something like that for my wife. When I picked up and returned home I notice a loud ticking noise when idling. when the engine is warm and you turn the key to the on position you hear abnormal servo noise under the seat. Not the normal sequence I'm used to. The heated grips and seat don't work.

It seems obvious the grips and seat are a fuse or something from the light install. WHAT is this ticking noise? Is there a electric oil pump or soemthing? If you let the bike idol it gets louder as the bike warms up.

help-

Call your dealer's service shop IMMEDIATELY and report the symptoms that you discovered after picking up your bike!  Don't delay!

They clearly messed up something electrically when performing the service and/or installing the new accessory.

Yes Thanks,

I forgot to mention...I did call and they came and picked up the bike this morning. They didn't want me to ride it. I still want to understand what was wrong before they explain it to me.

I'm afraid they will say the ticking is normal when I know it wasn't there before.

I'd just wait and see.. by the above comment, clearly something is not right, and "first service" should mean you are under warrenty... even if they did something, they need a chance to fix it..

Under the seat is a gang of relays.  There are about 10 or 12 of them in a gang box under the seat.  What evidently has happened is they connected your new accessory to the hot side of one of the relays.......no feed to ground.....so it sits there and clicks and the reason they did not want you to ride or use it....could short out, heat up, get hot.....and do significant damage........as for the seat heaters and stuff not working......most likely they did not plug the wiring harness plugs back in.....you have to unplug that to remove the seat......The accessory needs to be on its own relay......not bootlegged in series with another........Kit
