Hello Everyone, Does anyone know why the starter from a 85-87 gl1200 wont fit an 84 interstate? Thank you in advance. Ron

theres no reason why it shouldnt fit, some aftermarket starters have slightly different splines, so it may not fit into the sprocket,  if you are buying a new starter you should get the new sprocket with it
