Pledge...I used to use Plexus but at 1/4 of the price I finally gave in to the gurus here and tried Pledge. Since I have saved a bunch of money and I like it better.

Please, try Motul Wash and Wax spray. It´s easy and great. I always have it with me to polish my bike.

I've been using Plexus but just ran out.

Just thought I would see if there is something  else to use?

Thanks Gene

Don't follow the Pledge advice.  Get some more Plexxus or some 210.  Pledge,Windex, or anything with ammonia/alcohol is bad for the protective coating of you windscreen.  Pledge may seem to be the answer and save you money but it eventually will damage your polycarbonate shield.

Contents of Pledge
Chemical Percent
Water 60-100
Mineral oil, white 1-5
Polydimethylsiloxanes (Silicon oil) 1-5
Naphtha, petroleum, hydrotreated heavy 0.5-1.5

Plexus only list it's "hazardous" contents
Alipathic Petroleum Distillates 300 ppm
Propane 1000 ppm
Isobutane 800 ppm

Just saying, I don't see ammonia/alcohol in either. But I'm no chem engineer either.

Plastx restored my friends $300.00 windscreen on his Roadking. i did the work.. Used plastx, applicator pad, and plenty of water while rubbibg in "ONE DIRECTION".. to avoid swirl marks... Removed the cloudy appearence and scratches.. Cant tell it from new now.! Friend is happy to keep the $300.00 he was about to spend.......... normally to clean my windshield, all it takes is a wet terry towel laid over the windshield just a few minutes.... bugs etc. soften up and remove easily... without chemicals.! just wipe dry using all cotton cloth.. Take it from me, those microfiber cloths have polyester fibers that do more damage than good... cotton? No Way.! dont need anything else besides water to clean a windshield...

we got lots of bugs here in the midwest---big juicy ones too! i blow em off with a carwash wand, then use a micro fiber cloth to dry my wind shield. when it starts getting scratched up i use a product called novus fine scratch remover. i use it manually and have had great results. i was going to buy a new windshield and thought what the heck...ill try it. im glad i did, because every time i use it my windshield gets better and better, just as the product claims. i got it on line from ebay. it has 3 stages for cleaning. 1 is a cleaner only, 2 is a fine scratch remover (which is what i use) and 3 is for heavy scratches. ive always wanted to try it with a power buffer, as im sure the results would be amazing. also the kit cost me $8.00 plus a few bucks shipping. hope that helps.

Something everybody here keeps ignoring is the fact that the OEM windshield is not plexiglass, it's Lexan. Most of the stuff you are touting will damage the coating on the shield.

Wive's tales are fine for venerial disease and nuclear waste...but this is important and you should seek scientific documentation before you apply any substance to that shield.

Novus is good for all plastics, it specifically is intended for plexiglass and lexan windshields on motorcycles. Really works good.

210 cleaner and polish is specifically recommended by Tulsa for use on their windshields. Almost 4 years on the windshield and she almost looks like new. Novus is great for use on plastics too. They make a great spray cleaner polish for use on plastics also.
