Don't know why, but it's been cold here already down to the lower 30's.
Today I just moved the trike setup back some so I could walk around it better.
Got the IRS rear end centered to bike & worked (brain power) on how to mount it.
Will be a bracket to the rear crash bar area , cardboard template as in picture.
The 2 lower bars will mount to the center stand area.
Then from the rear shock mounts will have tubing back to the rear frame mounting bolt.
That should do it good.
Will build a aux. gas tank to sit on top of rear end about 22"x 10" x 8" & mount a GoldWing gas pump & sending unit. It will be controlled with a switch up front using a Chevy dual tank switch.
Wheel base came in at 75" & outer tires is 65"
Pictures are below, you can see all my pictures at this link:

Which Subaru?
The Bradley GTII has a mid-engine 2.7 Subaru 6 cyl in it.
The 3 Wheel car "RAKOONS" has a front wheel drive 2.7 Subaru 6 cyl in it.
The super mini Subaru Outback "RAKOONS' DEN" camper. No 2.7!
Was thinking of putting in a 2.7 Subaru 6 cyl  in the " RAKOONS' TOY" GoldWing Trike build, but the insurance would kill me.
How bout a mid-engine GoldWing?

SUBARU " Best Kept Secret"

:dude:Well, here's the latest.
Found a diff. at "Pull-A-Part" for $66.00.
It's from a BMW 325i with 2.93:1 gearing, same as the Goldwing.
So I also had to change the axle to the older type with bolt on flange.
Should have just bought the 95 Miata rear end to begun with instead of the 2000 with the new slide in axles.
Installed the axles & now figuring how to mount the diff.
2 Picures show the rear end & last picture shows what parts I changed.

OK, got the side brackets made today & welded them in.
Tacked welded the side tubing to rear end frame & made wood shock supports.
Forgot to mention that the diff. is mount to frame , but still need to make axle adp. & drive shaft.

It's up on 3 wheel & rolling around

Today used the lathe to cut the bushing holder for the rear support which are mount to the shock upper mount back to the rear end.
The back section will be bolted down using weld nut.
This way I will be able to remove this brace so & can remove the rear end section.

Got the rear air shocks mounted, still need to hook up to compressor.
Started to make rear axle adp.
Lathe in a recess for the inner axle, now to get them hele arc welded.
Then back on the lathe to smooth out the back side, cut recess for Miata axle, drill & tap holes on both.
Last picture shows the disc brake setup after I removed the axle .

Updated as I get things done. Hope to drive around soon, then into storage for the winter & back to work on the Bradley GTII Kit Car

Got the diff. axle adp. plate welded & machined the other side for the axles.
Have one drilled & tapped & should have them on by this evening.
Machined the drive shaft adp. on the lathe & will get it welded up today & get it
installed also. Couldn't use the one's I got waterjet cut due to the shorter wheel base.
Be ready for 1st drive soon.

Will the night mare begins!!
LAST HOLE broke the tap.
I tell you, it no fun drilling through a hardened hub axle & a weld.
Wiped out the drill on every hole & had to use the "Drill Doctor" to resharpen.
Then had to tap a 10mm threads. 7 out of 8 ok, it's always the last one.
It's in a good 1/2" & won't come out! Any ideas????
HEY GOT THE TAP OUT!!!
There was some sticking out the bottom that I was able to get small vice grip on & slowly remove it, OH HAPPY DAYS.
2nd picture shows the Mill/Drill I have, the lathe is in the basement.

This was supposed to be a picture of it finished
!

You might try heating it, had to do that with a tap that sheared off in my axle housing on the jeep. Heated it until it was really hot and stuck in a pointed vice grip until I could turn it out (1//2" tap). The only other way is to burn it out, and put in a plug. Can't think of any other way, you sure can't drill them out. Oh, how about those places that remove studs, etc. professionally. Once I sheared off the bolt in the end of my crankshaft, had to take it in and have it professional removed. I hate doing that, as I want to know how. But they had a machine that was made for that kind of work. No choice.  The machine was lined up with the bolt and a special drill (grinding type) was pushed slowly into the bolt in a reverse direction until it actually did two jobs, came out finally on it's own but had to grind about 1/2 of it away first.

Heat was my second idea but didn' want to pull out the torch outfit which I haven't used in a long time

sorry you couldn't use them but at least you got the idea. i see um in the back ground of your fix. man that rear sure looks wide is there anyway you can cut some of the center of the frame out to narrow the width some. or not. i think mine ended up being 52 outside of tires 47 to the backing plate. just a thought. i'm starting my new 1200 trike this week and i'll take tons of pics this time and step by step it. so everyone can see. lots of 1200s running around on 2 that want to be on 3. keep up the good work and pics.

:(It is wide, about 68" outside of tires even with the offset rims.
I would need to narrow the rear axles & build shorter A-arms.
Maybe some day.
Let me know if you need the drive shaft adp. for your new 1200.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Maybe next year I could drive out to Nashville & met you,
Let me know if your in the Knoxville area.
Sorry, sent PM instead  of Reply

Got the axle adp. finished & installed.
Hooked up the drive shaft.
Added air to the shocks.
Finished up some welding.
Backed it up & took it on a short trip up & down the street.
Loss pressure in rear master, need to see why.

Just did about a 2 mile mile trip around the block.
Runs good, tracks good, hard to steer.
Hey,not bad for 3 1/2 weeks work with a few cold days off.
Waiting for parts is the hardest part!

skoto1 Had sent me a PM which got me thinking and maybe into more work (trouble).

I figured you could cut some out of the middle of the frame without having to change anything you would have to cut the axles but not the a arms you could make a sleeve to put the axles back togeather looks like you maybe could loose 6 in pretty easy?

My reply:
Wish you had said something earlier before I just finished all of the welding.
However due to the BMW diff rear mount it would be a little hard to do.
But you had me down there stitching my head about it.
Sounds do-able
.
After doing some measuring I figure I could cut the right sub-frame 3" which would center the drive shaft, then shorten the upper & lower A-arms 2".
Having to cut, weld & sleeve the axles 5" on right side & 2" on left would shorten the wheel tread 7" bring it down to about 57"
.
I would also have to make new frame mounts to the bike.
Let me hear what you think of all of this addition work to lose 7"
