Still waiting for the bolts to mount the shocks & the Trunk, so I'm playing with the (RED) WING I found at Pull-A-Part.
Also painted the rear assy.
May have to lower the shock mounts an inch or so. Rear end sits to low.

If it wasn't for the rock slide work on I-40 in NC I'd be tempted to ride up there to see your handy work.

Well, the front forks are off again!
I'm picking up the rack tree from Bill Watson from the bike he just bought w/o the side car.
I will also be driving out to Calif to pickup the rear damaged body from Spiderbob in Dec.
Will be making adjustment & changes to the body & will have pictures.

THE OLD TREE

THE NEW TREE

Finally got the rear air/shocks Model 416 installed at the correct hight.
The rear end should be finished & ready to go.
Now I need to get the forks back together.

do you think you should run a sway bar from your new frame to the old frame in the back some where to keep it from trying to sway on you lot's of open space back there.

just a thought you should try forward air or there are several trucking company local that would do it cheaper than you can drive it. unless your going anyway.

Sounds like a good drive, it's 22 hours from OKC to LA and 8 from OKC to Memphis so it should be a little over 30 hours each way. Hope you get some good parts there.

The frame rails run completely across the back of the bike frame held with 2 bolts each side & welded to the sub-frame.
Then there's the 2 tubing coming from the old shock mount to the rear of the framing.
Then there's 2 more tubes going from the old center stand to the lower section of the sub-frame. That will be tubing to all 4 corners going out to the rear body mount framing into the tow hitch area.
Should be pretty well braced.
We will be going out to Salton Seas  at the FOY for 3 weeks anyway. LA is only 4-5 hours away & I go up there to see a friend  which means I go right past Bob's house.

Hey that sounds like  good run for your Trike when you are finished with it. There  is a lot of country to see that way.

Mount the tree last night but the 2 nuts w/lock tabs are REALLY tight & can't get the 2nd one locked down.
Put the tree in the vice a ran the 1st nut on it , was very tight, not cross  threaded, had to use channel locks all the way.
Had a friend move the tree when I held the nut & got the 1st nut down, 2nd one came up 3/16" short of being tight.
Any ideas on this?
Never had this problem before.
Skip

Update: Got the new longer bolts for the rear shochs & got them mounted A-OK
