finally feeling a little better. got some bug fenders yesterday and am going to try and use them as part of the body this time may save me some time on fabrication. i am going to use this body as a mold for future builds. but still no sheet metal. bummer. found a piece of metal i had in the corner not enough to do much with but put in on it anyway until i can get enough to finish this thing. ok body under way this afternoon. tied the back of the fender togeather this afternoon and did a frame to support the fenders. also filled the old tail light holes. just another look. will take some of the frame i built to support the body when i remove it again. 4 bolts and you can remove the body. i got my sheet metal from a local file cabinet company seconds from production. the square tubing i got from a local steel company. you can also purchase all of it from a steel company but the sheet is quit a bit higher when purchased new. i also get some from the local tractor supply but is kinda pricy from them. i'm as wide as i can go. about 3" from the tires on the sides of the trunk and i'm down more than halfway on the rear end. it's lot bigger than a kit trike trunk. yes i'm using the tour pac also. i could have made it deeper but i really didn't want the floor of the trunk lower than the rearend axles . i could have dropped the door end of the trunk down some but it would have been running down at the back. it's 28" wide 22" tall and 24" deep. twice as big as the tour pac and almost double the capacity of the side bags. it's plenty big need anymore space they'll just have to pull a trailer. i'm only about 3" from the rear end so i can still get the cover off in case i need to change the rear end grease for any reason and have enough room to run the tail pipes comfortably and not get anything in the trunk to warm. i'm also going to put a luggage rack on the flat spot behind the tour pac for extra carry space. for a luggage bag or whatever. good looking tail lights. do they go inside a cover or can you use them like that. they are just about the right shape for my fenders. i was thinking of using these this time.
