Al sorry about not catching the paint problem post sooner, but from what I can remember about "Candy" colors, they are extremely hard to match....Even with the same mixtures of flake to paint, etc, the size of the flake can vary, and the paint has to be kept on a shaker all during the paint job...One spray gun I used to do a "Candy" paint job with, had a "stirrer" inside the pot that kept the flakes mixed up into the paint.....It takes a really steady hand painting "Candy" colors, one pass too close or one pass to far away can dramatically make a huge difference in these paint jobs.....In four years of taking and teaching auto paint and body, We only had a couple of students that had "Candy" paint jobs turn out good....One tiny "Run" can ruin the whole job.....Yours looks good but I suggest that "if and when" you decide to have it redone, do the whole bike not just the rear body.....

Claude.....

Cheers for that Redbaron,Dont get me wrong the spray guy got a much better finish second time round,in the sun the candies lovely. Its just i think the top purple coat has been put on to thick so is'nt as deep red.But like you said to get the same finish would have to have prepared body same as honda prepared it originally. The guy that mixed the paint advised painting all the painted parts, but as its all original 20 annivarsary would be reluctant unless other gets damaged:shock:

I've now done around 1500 mile on trike, having my freedom back is truely awesome!!In the future may have it redone with some airbrush artwork.

My next jobs will be leading link front forks to improve steering-handling,has original setup takes its toll on shoulders-disabilities i've got & fitting a larger car size rear brake master cylinder.Has the original is operating 2 rear hubs & front left caliper,a master cylinder with larger piston will pump more brake fluid through for a stronger brake

Copious quantities off alcohol seemed to ease the pain, at least it seemed like that on Saturday night

Had op on hand yesterday for carpol tunnel,op went ok but hands very tender today.

I ve found a trike builder local who can rake out forks 4.5deg-lower legs and hagon have got the proggresive springs in now.So steering will be sweeter to steer next year for pulling my wing pico light teardrop caravan :readit:that i will be building this winter.

See you at the NABD's Auturmness rally Graham:byebye:

Steerings not to heavy, think new proggresive springs will firm up soggy feel on front forks when fitted. When hands mended will take trike to local build shop see what he quotes for raking yokes as, US almost 1000$ kit is out of my price range at moment. As building a small teardrop pod this winter to sleep in(Bones cant take camping in a tent in wind and rain on floor now)!!

New proggresive fork springs arrived today and have been fitted with SAE 15's grade fork oil, soon as removed  jack and stands, trike sat 1inch higher. So already had the advantage of more rake on the forks. On a short ride earlier steering was instantly improved and rode better over uneven surfaces.Attending NABD's Auturmness rally Thurs so will have a 300 mile round trip to really tell the improvement. But replacing the tired old springs is a definate handling improvement on the trike.:action:

Now covered just over 3500 mile since building the trike on all types of roads-motorways.Very happy with the ride, and had no problems so far with the trike.

The steerings been much improved fitting new fork springs.

I ve had an excellent 1st year attending meetings and rallies and made loads of new friends.Putting a 3rd wheel on the Goldwing as given me the freedom to experience and enjoy the open road again Fantastic !!
