Hello everyone. I am a female rider who after riding my husbands GOLDWING am thinking of purchasing my own. I currently ride a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe, she is a big bike and although I love her, she doesn’t have the creature comforts of a Wing. So biggest decision faced here is color and whether I really want to do this. I plan to go riding my husbands 2007 Wing again today. Decisions…decisions.

Wow such a warm welcome from all over. Well I rode his Wing again today and even took it out on the highway. I love it. Don’t get me wrong I love my bike too but mine handles like a mud pig compared to the Wing.
And hey Swaggerman where do I get that one in Hot Pink?

Well hello again everyone. Just a note to say the decision on a new bike for me was put on hold on May 30. It was such a gorgeous afternoon for a ride and one of those situations that just shouldn’t have happened.
It was around 5PM and my husband and I each on our own bikes were headed home from a beautiful ride to make dinner. Traffic was light in the West bound lanes of the Parkway and we were approaching a service pavilion in left center median. We pass this often on our rides. I can tell you every vehicle that was around me. I was traveling in the left lane when suddenly a car that was about 2 to 3 car lengths ahead and in the far right lane decided to turn abruptly across three lanes of traffic to get into the exit part of the service pavilion. Well this 18-year-old driver fell seconds short of taking me directly head on.
I am so lucky to be alive. My husband who was about 3 car lengths behind me in staggered formation was spared impact by the hardest brake of his life. He was not spared the agony of watching my tossed down the parkway like a rag-doll. My motorcycle was totaled. Myself after 2 days in ICU and surgery am on my way to recovering. Besides bruises I have a fractured pelvis, tailbone and ankle.
Motorcycling for me is done for this year. I am sure when all is said and done whether I ride again will be a courage factor. I just don’t know but can say that 1800GL with an Airbag looks sweeter everyday.

WOW! I am so sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds like it could have been a lot worse. D-Rod & I will pray for your speedy recovery. I'm sure the decision to ride again would be a tough one after that. We wish you the best!

Thank you Mother of Pearl, for coming on and explaining the reason for you being so quiet after the initial flurry.
We are all saddened to hear the news of your accident and the main thing in our minds is your swift and full recovery, thoughts of another bike can wait til you are healed.
Bad as it obviously was, I am heartened to hear that you weren't even more badly hurt.
Plenty fo time on your hands now to be posting on here whilst you recuperate.

Time I have a ton of while I sit around the Rehab facility. I am progressing in that there is less pain, and I am stronger but still not able to walk. I am lucky though I am able to get to and from my chair on my own.
I am hanging in and still thankful everyday I am here to get better and hope to ride again. Meanwhile I am here so I can handle an even bigger motorcycle.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.
