I had a lot of motorcycles that I worked on when I was much younger.
I am a short (5'6") old (63) guy with fairly short legs, 28" inseam so I don't know if I can handle a Goldwing?
I think I would like an older one I could work on some but not sure which of the first years would be best?
Maybe the 1975 - 1979 GL 1000?
Is there a "best year" in that range?
Thanks

Welcome Bill,
I only have a 29 inch inseam and ride a 1500. I can't flat foot both sides at the same time but I can do one and most of the other. Not much of an issue once you get used to it.
Don't know if there were much better or worse GL1000's but most of the happy users have changed the points out to an aftermarket electronic ignintion. If you can get that in the bike already, that would be a plus.

Welcome to the forum from Florida.
I am vertically challenged, 5'-0" and slowly getting shorter. I have a 85 1200 and love it. Can't flat foot it unless 2up and then it's still only one foot.
Still I love putting miles behind me and so does the wife.
