I'm a 59 Y.O. guy, riding since 1970. Just retired from 35 years of service as a forensic scientist.
My current bike is a 1986 GL1200 Interstate with 60,000 miles on the clock. I've had it for about 6 years, being the 5th owner of this fine ride. Put a new Travelcade Road Sofa seat on it, the stock seat being the MOST painful seat I have ever experienced on a bike. Now, I can do 700 mile days with no problem. Stripped off the the trunk to improve the lines of the bike, added a large brake light and a smaller taillight to improve visibility. Stator replaced at about 40,000 miles. Added a digital voltmeter to keep track of the electrical situation. Markland mini-road boards to get my feet out from behind the heat, except in cold weather. Universal Gen-Mar 1" riser/pullbacks greatly improve my neck comfort. Ready to ride!
This site rocks!

Welcome, roadwing. Similar situation, just retired after 40 years at the same old place. Now, my future project is to log as many miles as I still safely have time for.
