I just purchased a 79 GL1000 with a sidecar.  I got it cheap because the engine has a knock in it.  It is in really good shape.  I have owned probably close to 30 motorcycles and this is my first goldwing.  I am from central Wisconsin.

the first thing is check the timing belts if unsure at all replace them then get the carbs balanced either one of these two can cause some really bad sounds and left go to long cause damage
