I have some new information for those of you that are flying into Atlanta airport and needing transportation up to Calhoun.
There is a shuttle bus from the airport to Calhoun Hotels everyday at 9:30AM, 11:30AM 2:30 and 5:30 and 7:30PM. Their price is today, $40 1st person and 20.00 second person. The name of the shuttle company is Shuttle Trans, phone # 1-800-556-5466. They would like 24 hours ahead reservations made.
This price is not too bad considering the distance and the cost of fuel today.

Well, I'm still on for demonstrating how to make those little stoves. Just need a couple of beer/soda cans, of which I'm sure there will be plenty of and I'll pick up some canned meat for the other type. I'll see if I can get one of the old fashioned can/bottle openers and I'll pick up either some denatured alcohol or a yellow bottle of Heat for the fuel. I can also give advice on the better roads for riding in lower BC and central/northern WA.

My wife is back working at the Disney Distribution Center a 1/2 mile up the road from the house and they're already talking about working Saturdays. These temp jobs usually last right through to the week just before Christmas.
So, if she has to work on the Saturday of the meet I guess we'll just have to come over as a day run on Sunday. They like her so well there I'm hoping that she could work it to have both Friday and Saturday off. I'd hate to miss out on meeting those that will leave early on Sunday.

NASSIR Rally Sept 25, 26, 27, 28 2008
Half-Fork Ranch
175 Hammond Rd SE
Calhoun GA 30701
Calhoun Georgia is located in the NW portion of Georgia, 45 miles south of Chattanooga TN and 75 miles North of Atlanta, right off Interstate-75 at Exit-312, (Hwy-53)
Half-Fork Ranch is just east of Calhoun GA off Hwy-53. The main Interstate is I-75 just 6 miles west of the ranch. If you are coming from either North or South on I-75, exit at Exit-312 (Hwy-53) and go 5 miles east to Farmville Road on your left. If you pass a Dollar Store on your right you have gone 100 yards to far!
Turn left on Farmville Rd and proceed to a stop sign. Continue through stop to the right and follow Farmville/Pendley Rd until you come to a cross street to the right at Hammond Rd SE. Turn right and proceed about 300 yards until you come to two red brick entryways on you left. You will see two train cars and a tall grain silo. Check in there!
More Information:
- We are located just 45 miles south of Chattanooga TN and 85 miles North of Atlanta GA. We are off at EXIT-312 on Interstate-75 and 5 miles East from that exit on Hwy-53. Great location to Everything.
- Coming from West Coast you can take the Southern Route I-10 to I-20, or you can come over on I-40.
- If you are coming from B. C. or North West you can choose lots of routes over to like Saint Louis and then drop south through Nashville and stay on I-24 into Chattanooga picking up I-75 there.
- Coming down from Ohio just jump on I-75 and run straight South and from North East make your way down to I-81 and head for Knoxville TN then catch I-40 to I-75.
- The weather is normally in the low 80’s about this time of year and lows in the 50’s. Starts to get a little cooler every 30 minutes as you head north on the back roads into the mountains from the ranch. Sept and Oct here are normally very dry months.
- Lodging. If you are moteler’s then there are dozens of motels around the 312- Exit just 6 miles from the ranch. From Cheap motels to places like the Hampton Inn and Comfort Suites. You’ll have a full list to choose from.
- Food is in the same area, from Steak houses to every fast food type place back here in GA.
- If you camp we have tons of lawn and trees here. Water is available also and a limited amount of electric. We have lots of shelter to get under from the rain, plenty of BBQ’s and restrooms. There is no mud, all roads are paved.
- The Swimming pool will be open but is not heated. It should still be plenty warm in September. We will have other games set up as well as we have a pool room with one table.
- We have plenty of Space for all RV’s that may come but it will be dry camping with plenty of water you can fill with.
- Outdoor patio with BBQ’s and fireplace with plenty of wood if we have cool evening.
Special Note: We are not a campground or a private RV Park. We are nothing more than a small working cattle operation with lots of room. If you want a real campground to stay in, there is a local KOA and others in the area.
Bring your lawn chairs, we are very limited.

Hows that old saying go???"What can go wrong will go wong"...Sorry to disappoint anyone but here's the latest on my foot surgery...I go to see Dr. Wed 7/15/08, at this visit we will look at MRI's and X-rays to set a date for this foot surgery..It cold be as late as a week or two or maybe even days after that visit...
I have heard all kinds of tales about how long I will be down, from 3 weeks up to and over 6 weeks, then there will be the orthopedic shoes and therapy. Long story short count me out for this wonderful meet and greet....
So what do I plan on doing while I'm off???? Probably go out into garage lay down next to my Wing and flop around like a fish out of water doing some of the little things I had planned on doing a long time ago.... ...
I have no doubts that this 1st annual Meet & Greet might turn into a regular thing..And who knows next one I might even bring some old ABS parts and put on a custom paint show and tell....Lord knows I've put in mega hours getting this Emron off of mine.... ...I haven't even touched the fairing as that someone close to me here said they had a couple of fairings that were in better shape than mine. And if one was a Hondaline like the one I have , then the price would be righteous...........
So I apologize to those whom I really wanted to meet and promise maybe next year, Lord willing we will be there.....Take lots of pictures, oh and label them....so I'll know who is who.....
Claude....

Well, I just did a Google check, from my house to the Ranch is 552 miles, estimated travel time of 8 hrs and 32 minutes, which for me will mean probably 9 to 9 1/2 hours, due to fuel and pee breaks, and BSing with people at stops who ask silly questions. And, by some chance if my friend from Texas, Quinton comes up to travel out there, then add at least another hour due to stops for a "butt break" on his 1800 VTX. Should be a nice ride.
