Dick, those are awesome.  I really like them.  Oddly enough, I have been talking with one of the assistant chapter directors for the local GWRRA chapter (chapter O) about helping out in some way with NASSIR 4.  He was very interested.  Anyway, the fun part is that the mascott for the chapter is an Orca.  I think it's kind of serendipitous that you chose an orca for the logo.  Pretty cool!

If Ken and the group actually get involved in this that would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.  I've invited them to rides and events MANY times and not one taker, ever.  Maybe my email to him about why I am not renewing got them thinking.  One can hope. :)

I was talking to Pat, he's an assistant director.  I know him pretty well, we go to church together.  I've talked with Ken a few times, but he seems pretty busy.  Maybe that's why not much happens with the chapter ride-wise.  I talked to Pat about the very thing you mentioned, getting and keeping younger riders, as well as doing more rides as a group/chapter.  He is very interested in ideas and suggestions.  I think he's hoping to be chapter director next year when Ken's term is up.  Could be good.

Yep, I know Pat and Debbie well.  Have known them for a number of years.  They are great people but don't ride much either.  His knees are so bad that he hasn't done hardly any riding for a few years.  He really needs a trike and has talked about it often.  I doubt it would change with him at the helm.  John S. was the CD when I started and he rides more than Pat and Ken but still was mainly interested in chapter events, and any riding he did besides that I never heard about unless I just happened to run into him, which happened a couple of times.  Pat has indicated interest in rides I've brought up many times, but never went any farther than interest.  He's actually a member of this forum, because of me, but only posted a few times when he was having a weird electrical problem.

Anyway, like I said, would be great to have them involved, but I won't be holding my breath for it to actually happen until I see them show up. :)  I have no animosity towards any of them.  They're great people, I just don't like spending all of my free time riding from meeting to meeting or doing only poker runs.  Poker runs are fun, but I don't want a steady diet of them.  The money spent on the entry fees, raffle tickets, etc. is better spent on fuel for the bike IMHO. :action:

Ok, ok.  I'll take it.  Sorry. But, I plan on keeping up discussions with Pat about getting the chapter involved in our little shin-dig.  Who knows, it may help turn things around there and make it a more enjoyable chapter for a broader base of riders.

Actually, now that I think about it, I was only commenting on the orca theme.   JOHN went and made it all hijacky...  I'll take the blame anyways.  I haven't caused any trouble around here and feel like I'm missing out.

A question for those interested,

Would you rather have a small graphic on the front of the t-shirt on the pocket and a large graphic on the back, or would you prefer having both a large graphic on the front along with a small graphic on the pocket?

John

I was just thinking abou that.  I like the idea of the orca on the front, small one in the pocket area and the large pike place market type one on the back.
