It figues, plan on leaving on the 30th and taking it easy going out, daughter calls today and said her, the ole man, and the grandsons are coming down to see us. Don't get to see them so much anymore, so I guess I put it off for a couple a days. Hope to be on the road by the 3rd in the early am.

Sounds like you will still have plenty of time, and will not have to ride to hard.

If Jim leaves on the 3rd, that will give him 9 days to make it there by the evening of July 11 Most direct non slab route will take him 59 hrs of riding time, or 7.375 days of 8 hrs of riding time per day. That's not allowing for any sight seeing, gas/pee/rest/meal stops along the way. Now .... factor in a minimum of an additional 2 hrs 'wasted' each day for setting up/breaking camp. On top of that, factor in time for detouring to sights that Jim planned/wanted to see on the way up and you'll realize that time is indeed tight! An additional 3-4 days as he had originally scheduled, would have been ideal! Dusty

My biggest event was gonna be, Road to the Sun in Glacier Park, but they still have 35 to 45 feet of snow, maybe I'll have to wait and hit it on the way back. I was allowing myself two day in that part of town. I just love it up there. With the pills and insulin stops, I just know there are going to be some twelve and fourteen hour days. Ahh to be young again. Another thing, three years ago, moved to Va. and left for Alaska, I think, but I know it was a long trip that I took. This year, go to Washington state and move as soon as I get back. It's still in the works, I'll know or have a very good idea by Thursday.
