We are back up and running..Appears we picked up a stone from the road tarring in Idaho and it lodged between the rear tire and swing arms causing a deep rut to cut into the sidewall.

Once home, I will start a new thread on this matter and post photo's of the tire for future reference of members.
Great work guys! I knew the gang would pull together and get you out of that predicament. I was working on trying to get a run up that way to help you out if they did'nt :)

Made it home an hour ago. Beautiful ride through the North Cascades but unbearable heat through the prairies. I guess it was just a primer for NASSIR5! :action:

Glad to hear you made it home with that new clutch, Marcus. Now don't be following anymore cow paths into the hills and you may just make it to NASSIR5. Your wife's invited!

1st night out, Dave and I spent the nigt at Lee Creek campground, just over Lolo Pass. Pulled into the campground and who do we see there but Mr & Mrs Halfling.

Last night we had to resort to plan "C", as the 2 other campgrounds were full, so we spent the night at Craters of the Moon National Park, in southern Idaho. We are currently having a coffee iatMicky D's  in Idaho Falls, bound for Grand Tetons/Yellowstone for tonight.

Once again Dave blown away by the scenery so far.

Deb and I are at Ramada Inn at Pincher Creek Alberta...saw some absolutely stunning scenery from Revelstoke over to here as well as some Rocky Mountain Sheep wandering all over the road, had to be careful.

Tomorrow its Glacier National Park in Montana..I hear they have 50 foot drifts beside the just opened road..Looking forward to seeing that

We spent the day in Rapid City, SD.  We went to mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, then we rode the entire distance through Custer and Black Hills National Park.  What a ride.  I could have used some snow today, it was 97 up in the hills.  We saw a herd of Buffalo at the side of the road and one actually charged Anita when she rode by.  I guess Buffalo don't like Shadows. :? We saw a lot of wildlife in the NP, including Donkeys, Deer, Elk, Goats, and at Crazy Horse we saw some Mountain Goats at the top of the mountain.  We're on the road home again tomorrow.  We have 2 hard days of driving ahead of us.  1200 KM per day.

Buffalo don't seem to like any vehicle. In 1964 I was chased by a bull buffalo while taxiing on the Buffalo Center, Alaska BLM landing strip. Luckily I had room to take off so didn't have to turn around and let him catch me. That thing probably weighed as much as my Piper Pacer did. I'm glad Anita didn't get cornered by the buffalo on her Shadow.

It's not too bad with 2 drivers.  Anita does her share of driving (once we get out of the mountains).  She's going to send a letter to all the states that have the Rockies and request a tunnel for our next trip.;)
