I said "NASSIR" he looked it up and came back with "Mather" that's when I gave up and decided to take his advice and call back in the morning.

I found it all kind of funny.

Well, the Ward family (yes, Stephen included) will depart home on Sunday and arrive either Monday evening or Tuesday morning. I'll lay out our route later in case anyone wants to join up with us going up and going home. We paln to depart on Friday morning getting home sometime on Sunday.

We will be camping at the Moose lodge.

Greeper,

If you have any problem in the morning, send me a pm and I will call over there and see what's going on.

Also, pm Wexy to have him put you on the attendees list.

Patty

I do, I just got back from PA and saw plenty of deer and wild turkeys.

Hmmm...so I get to meet the BEAV, too?? Hot damn! :D I've always described growing up in Erie PA as something out of "Leave It To Beaver"....for me, of course, not my parents!

Consider yourself seriously at risk, Ken. You may very well get licked in the face by some mutt, while camping...

I would recommend coming equipped with Milkbones that you can throw outside your tent...the best defense is a good offense? :cooldevil:

The 'Wildlife' I was referring to were definitely not dogs, Pete. :D

... although the one was a younger 'pup', while the others were most decidedly from the 'Cougar' family. :dude::dude::dude: :action:

To get this thread back on track (what rotten person side-tracked it, anyway?) lol

I'm looking forward to exploring the region around Hamburg- all I've really seen of that area is-

1) Niagara Falls....been there, done that, multiple times, but...I'd go back, with the right friends, and enjoy the heck out of it. I never HAVE done the "Maid of the Mist" thing (link provided by Button Lady and D-Rod). I HAVE gone down the elevator, that comes out underneath the Canadian side, which was wet, but incredible!
2) I've driven the highway along Lake Erie many times, with family...and, I'd do THAT again, too!

I'm interested in SO much more, in the immediate vicinity, and I would definitely like to explore more of northern PA, in addition to the finger lakes (no numbers) region. I've only seen a bit of that...my folks lived, for a few years, in Skaneateles. I grew up camping Cook's forest, not far below the NY line, and the whole region along rt 6 is scenic.

I've already talked with Ken (Dusty Boots), about the possibility of visiting the Adirondacks after the meet...it sounds like he, plus Cousin Jack and Red, will be headed that way. Love it, love it, love it....can't get back there, enough.

:waving:

Yes,,,,,,,,, we will need to keep our guard up at all times. It was,,,, um,,, quite surprising how unexpectedly we were "Attacked" on our way to NASSIR-2. But we did handle the situation well and managed to keep them at bay;)

Hol Crap !!  So did I !!

Did you do the canoe trips on the Clarion, from the livery by the bridge.  It used to actually be cheaper to rent their canoes, than to drive 2 vehicles, and bring our own.

I'll never forget listening to an older woman bitch out a park ranger, and demand her money back . . . . . . . because raccoons aren't supposed to know how to open a cooler . . . . . she lost a weeks worth of provisions on night one. . . . . . :D

No, I missed doing the canoe trip...:( I was pretty small back then, about knee-high to a grasshopper!

On the other hand, I'm quite certain we met the SAME raccoon!
Is that big bast*** STILL there, after all these years? He must be around retirement age, by now...you'd think the Parks system would give him a pension...

We didn't get our money back, either......:D

It's way  too soon to deal with specifics but in general what are the check in and departure targets. Some may need to know to arrange travel and accommodations. I'm assuming a Tuesday morning check in and a finale of some sort Thursday with Friday departures or am I stretching things? Is the departure date Thursday with the big whoop up on Wednesday?

D-Rod has a long list of things to see.

Is there a prize for seeing everything on D-Rod's list? Like a new set of tires because you'd need them.

The Moose Lodge shelter is available Monday - Friday. I would plan on departure Friday morning as there are plans for Thursday evening. If you come early or stay late, camping rates will be the same but the shelter may not be available as someone else may rent it on the weekends.
When I checked with the hotels, I gave the dates of 12 - 16. Some of them "implied" that if people came early or stayed later, they would give the same rates so make sure you check with them.

I hope the auction will be Wednesday evening. That way any that may need to hit the road on Thursday afternoon will be able to participate.
