We (me and my missus) plan on arriving on the 13th and departing on the 16th.

I made my reservation at the Tally Ho Tel and even remembered to PM Wexy.

I'm looking forward to it already!!

It's too early for me to say for sure I'll be able to attend, however I plan to make a serious effort. I hopefully will be able to get some time off that week! Since I live in the center of the Fingerlakes, I may be able to offer suggestions for those looking to visit Seneca or Keuka Lakes or tour the wine trail. There are several State Parks and numerous bed and breakfast places surrounding both lakes for those looking to venture couple hours away from Hamburg. If you have any questions regarding Canandaigua, Geneva, or Watkins Glen area I may be able to help you. The fingerlakes wine trail is available from this link: http://www.senecalakewine.com/jc/content/view/28/60/

Just a quick comment, for those thinking of coming through, or continuing on to, northern New York/New England.

You may have seen this on the national news tonight...the Lake Champlain bridge has been inspected, and condemned. The foundation was built without reinforcing, when FDR was president. Who...????:D That's Franklin Delano Roosevelt, not FTD, which is a flower company....their statue of the winged delivery guy is a bronze, in Florence, Italy. I've seen it; it's really cool. You could touch it, if you don't mind being pummeled by the "Museum Police" who, I'm convinced are hiding just behind the walls...

So....it probably won't be rebuilt, by next summer. If you want to cross from upstate New York, you'll either have to go up into Canada (Quebec, I believe, at that point?) or backtrack an hour or so, to the next crossing south. Or, possibly, take a ferry, which will take about the same time. I'm assuming the ice will be thawed, in July?

Irrelevant for most; useful to some? :waving:

Good Heads Up Pete,

If you are east of Lake Ontario, all the bridges and crossings are in good shape.

The first crossing is into Cape Vincent and it's a Ferry, Kinda fun but slow at times.

The second crossing Northeast is The Thousand Islands Bridge across Wellseley Island on Route 81.  A pay bridge, $2.50 US I think. ( I use a 72 trip pass, Much Cheaper.)

The third crossing Northeast is the International Bridge in Cornwall another Pay Bridge.
If the Mohawk Indians don't have it blocked for some protest.  I cross free with my ID card so I don't know the fee.

There are more crossings north, But that's it in NY I believe.  I have used all of the above and can attest they are in good shape.
