I've been reading this thread for a while and I wish I could make it. Matter of fact I'll be at another rally 8,9,10 in the Catskills  and on the 11then I'll be riding to Niragra Falls leaving the 13th for home. Which is the day You guys start. I'll keep the address of the motel just in case I can swing another day since I'll be close by.

That would be great if you could make it. If you contact Rudy and Digby sign up on their list to help fellow members when they are traveling and on the list you get when you sign up with Digby will be our number in case you want to contact us.

When it closer to the rally I'll see if I can get more time off from work. You know you have to have at least one person from Rhode Island.

Debating making the trip . I made it to calhoun and was really glad i went. For anyone sitting on the fence I'd say if you have the time and a few bucks to spare,  this should be worth the trip.  NY isnt horrendously far for me like last years rally was, and truth be told there just wasnt any funds available for "fun" either.

I've been self employed in the construction business for 10 yrs and unless youve been living under a rock you know that folks like me have either gone bankrupt or hanging on by the skin of our teeth. So right now it is impossible to know if the time and money will be there to take the trip this year. It will likely be a last minute decision for me.

I will check back in (I have been away for quite some time) and if it looks do-able I will PM wexy when i can confirm.  Its good to see some familiar folks still here and chatting, as well as some additional people that i'm not familiar with.  To all my forum friends, have a safe riding season this year. Temps look like they might finally warm up enough to hit the road.  Its been a long cold winter here by our normal standards, and I'm a fair weather only kinda guy :smiler:

Ride safe.... LP

Wexy, Its good to be back.  Calhoun was the last time I really did any serious riding. My bike sat for most of last year except for the blue ridge run I do every year with some of the other members in this area, so I am looking forward to the possibility of making nassir 3

I have family in the cleveland area which gives me a stopover point if I can work out the funding for this trip. Ive never rode that far from home before either so I'll hafta be sure every little thing is right before I venture out that far. Now before some of you roll over laughing at the thoughts of 750 miles or so each way being "too far" just remember, old ass bike with broke ass rider eating percosets like Pez, isnt really the "ideal" situation. :smiler:

I am not 100% sure, but I think this was your Calhoun slow ride.

Not laughing, it's probably money matters that might prevent you from doing the mileage.

it was 5-6000 miles and a month riding for me to get down to Nassir 2  but we made it, and got the calendar to boot :) Tylenol 3's got me through  :)

Great to see you posting again LP!

I've put in for my vacation already, so it looks like I'm traveling north as well. I figured the CSA should send an envoy!:cooldevil:

My uncle (a big, ugly Harley rider) says he might ride with me as well, maybe even my old man. Regardless, I'll be there if I have to ride by myself.

Ponymanr,  Wow. yeah, thats me :smiler: pretty cool!  I didnt know there was any footage or pictures of that event. It was my first try at a slow ride, and  I think I'll do even better next tiime.  Truly I got a little scared after I watched the one guy who dropped his bike..  Its not too cool to watch one hit the ground.

tricky, you mentioned finances.... lol,  this recession has left me and my family so broke that we cant even afford to call it "finances" at this point.  We mostly refer to our "finances" as a change jar.   That being said, the rally ride will be a last minute decision for sure based mostly on how much silver is in the can VS pennies :smiler:

I am trying to see how this trip can be actualized, you know the economy has left me so poor I can't pay attention. :smiler:  As I speak, I am in my wife's hospital room where she is recovering from knee surgery. This problem made the #1 meet and greet iffy but she trudge through like a trooper. I would like to make this trip if she heals well with no complications. The trip is four months out and this may give us enough time to get ready for the mileage and get our finances together. Like LP we will have to wait until the last moment for the green light. We have not ridden our bike much since the Calhoun and Blue Ridge Run events because of her knee problem. We hope this surgery will be what the doctor ordered.

Keep On Winging:bat:
