Diamond Lake is the Place!!!! Diamond Lake Reservations!!! This is the reservation site. I will attach a map of the general area below. I booked A10. $16 per night, $9 booking fee. I will be there Thursday afternoon about 3-5 or so... I booked three nights. Hurry and get your site!! We will look at a map, and plan out-and-backs as we need to. I have a great map of the area... My only fear at this point, is not getting that reservation... they only have a four hour window each day that they take calls... On Friday I put a Patriot Guard Mission ahead of making the call, I doubt I will regret making a mission a priority, but it would be sad to find out they filled up on Friday...

i called whistlers, to find that every year, one group comes in and books both group areas 11 months to the day, in advance. That means its been booked since September... no chance... Everyone ok with a move to Diamond Lake??

I think if you find any campground down there in the general vicinity it would be fine. A group site would be a major + but not absolutely necessary, and an added plus would be one with some cabins or yurts or with a hotel nearby for any that don't wish to camp. We had a great time flying by the seat of our pants for #2. John

Looks nice, and fits the nice to have's too, other than I didn't see a group campground with the brief look I had time for. I'd be a little surprised though if one of the campgrounds didn't have a group area. I don't think there is a group campground, nor electrical/showers there. I was just thinking(hoping) that it is not as popular as the Diamond Lake Rec Area and that if Dick and I (and who ever else) could get there on Thursday, near noon and secure a couple of sites, then we should be able to have (hopefully ) room for 2 other tents per site. No guarantee, just hopeful speculation at this point.(?) From what I have researched, there are 5 campgrounds scattered around Lemolo Lake Maybe another campground in the area that doesn't receive high usage? Okay ... did some more research .... Here's a spot that has group camping, is between Diamond Lake and Whistler Bend, just off of 138 - http://goo.gl/maps/UNCt It's called Horseshoe Bend .... more info here ...maybe you could check that spot out, Dick.
