Whoo-hoo!  Last year was a complete hoot!

God willin' and gas prices don't rise too much... I'm in!  You have GOT to see this beautiful Valk I bought as a result of seeing it at last years ride.  I am IN LOVE!

<!--insert sound byte of cheesy Carpenter's song here-->

Coopers in Llano rocks!  Along with City Market in Luling and Smitty's in Lockhart, it's one of the three best BBQ places in Texas. (IMHO) The third jewel on the triple crown of Texas barbeque. City Market in Giddings pulls in at a close fourth!  I can feel my arteries clogging even as I write this. (But damn, that is some good pookie!)

Borne is so close to me, I 'prolly won't be needing a room.  I can ride there in an hour.

Just after the first Texas Ride my wife and I were on our way home from her job site, when out of the blue she says "You know what I want for Dinner tomorrow??"....I had no idea, then she says BBQ from Coopers.....Got home packed a bag and we were in Llano at the motel before midnight...Got woken up to the smell of BBQ being put on the fires at about 5 AM....Couldn't go back to sleep....We bought two ice chests there and bought about $100.00 worth of BBQ to bring home....While we were there I asked one of the servers about that "Wild bunch" that been there the week before, they had nothing but good things to say about the guys and gals at that First M&G held there......

There are several great places to eat up that way, some better than others, but all of them are good eating....This year my Wing will be running and if the creek don't rise I'm going to do my best to be there.....

_ _ Titled: "OIL CHANGE?"
Know its new taste, and be loyal, you'll know when, to change that oil.
Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows.
And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil.
If that soured oil turns to paste, new motors cost plenty, what a waste.
If friends find out, thy honor baste.(*)
Best get to it, with undue haste!

That bull was something else Doc....Not to mention other "strange animals" you might encounter on the "Sisters"...Like real Zebras, and so many "exotic" animals from Africa and other countries....I might near had a wreck when I looked over on one of the "Sisters" and there next to the fence was this giraffe with his head stuck out over the fence, to eat some leaves on this tree!!!!!!!....Up in the "Hill Country" there are way too many to count exotic animal ranches, some have hunts for mostly the exotic deer...For the most part these ranches bred and raise these animals because they are becoming endangered in their native countries, because of over population, and illegal hunting.... Don't be surprised as to what you might see behind a tall fence....

On one of our many trips there, we stopped on the side of the road twice to watch a huge flock of wild turkeys feeding, the next time we stopped we were watching an group of animals, that has even people around Houston, up in arms....That would be feral hogs tearing up yards and crops.....I could see several hundred lbs of hams, bacon, and pork chops, on the hoof.....

Here is the State Park  pdf file map of campsites, and fees

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/pwdpubs/media/park_maps/pwd_mp_p4505_040e.pdf

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/guadalupe_river/fee.phtml

Since I don't live near there Doc will have to list hotels, motels and discounts, but here is a list of them....

http://www.visitboerne.org/BusinessDirectoryii.aspx?ysnShowAll=0&lngNewPage=0&txtLetter=&txtZipCode=&txtCity=&txtState=&txtBusinessName=&lngBusinessCategoryID=24&txtAreaCode=

We have been to Boerne several times and missed one attraction there that we hope to visit soon, and that would be this.....

http://www.enchantedspringsranch.com/

I checked on their calender for the chuck wagon supper in October and the date was on October 26th, which is the Wednesday before the M&G....So if you have the time to roll in a day or two early this might be, no correction...This will be something you will never forget.....

Here is the website for Boerne, Texas...Lots of places to eat, things to do, and lots of history to see....Swimming in the river there is an adventure for sure, pretty clear waters, with some rapids thrown in for good measure.....

http://www.visitboerne.org/index.aspx?NID=27

Look it over and get ready for a great time, lots of great rides, sights to see....See you there....Hope you didn't mind this Doc...???

Good Lord willing, I plan on being there....

Doc.....Great place to hold this M&G.....

Claude.....

SPEAKING OF SPOOKS, I THINK THERE ARE MORE RETIRED CIA, FBI AND OTHER "SPOOKS" IN KERRVILLE TX THAN ANY WHERE ELSE, WHICH ALWAYS MAKES IT INTERESTING WHEN YOU SHOW UP AT A GUN RANGE. ***BY THE WAY NICE SMILE ON THE BULL*** I DID CATCH IT, CREEEPY

Hey.Doc haven't heard you around in awhile. Hopefully it's from all the riding you been doing and not working. I know how inconvenient it is to chose between working and riding.

I WISH IT WAS ALL RIDING, I SPENT HALF OF NOVEMBER AND HALF OF DECEMBER EITHER IN THE HOSPITAL OR HOME RECOVERING FROM SURGERY (3) TUMORS ALL NON CANCEROUS, THEN INFECTION, WHICH ALMOST KILLED ME THEN JUST GETTING BETTER AND THEN WORK MY BUTT OFF TRYING TO CATCH UP.

GETTING OLD SUCKS.

BUT I'M PRETTY WELL NOW AND STILL FAT AND HAPPY.

Yeah... but if you expect that pretty wife of yours to hang around you;d better do...

"something sexy to a tractor!"

Lawd... I am still getting good mileage out of that one...

'member that Valk I saw at Destination cycle on the Halloween ride last October... sad... tired... two fat tires and a dead battery?  Yall thought I was plumb crazy... but all I could hear was birds chirping and Carpenter's songs.  It was love a first sight ofr me...

Check it out now...
