I guess you missed out on the conversation. We were talking about the best pie in the state and decided to organize a pie run to the best 3 or 4 eating joints in the state in 1 day and try to decide who has the best pie. So far Oark general store and Maxines in Prescott and Charlotte's in Keo are on the list.

We had a great time too! Good to see everyone - David, the fourth "pi" stop was Cody's in Fifty-six.

How about the "first annual ridgerunners pie run"

If we need another place, what about Cody's in Fifty Six?  The pie is pretty good, and the roads through there are great!

Yep! Ditto for us too! Glad to meet and visit and be able to put faces to forum names . . . And learn a few legal names too. Really great that Chromo came down from MO, braving the cold. Here is wishing you the warmest regards to assist with your thawing when you get home, Chromo!

I had a great time visiting friends and meeting new friends today, glad I was able to make the ride!
Got a nice gift also that will come in handy. I've read something about using a fish scale to check the adjustment on the steering head bearings, guess what I got and what I need to do ;)

Gift for the furthest away person will be useful also.
I've checked and a Michalobe beer bottle fits perfect in the bottle wraps, not sure what they are called, things like keep cans cold or hot but for bottles, and I never saw those before.
I use Michalobe bottles for my Homebrew when I make it so those are perfect!
I will share the candy with the wife also.

Got home at about 11PM and 22F outside. Was told a bit south it was even colder than that once when I stopped.
I met a nice Valkarie rider at gas station in Bald Knob also on way home, we rode as far as Hardy, AR together, but then he went south and I went north.
Only had to stop once for him to warm up on the way.

I saw snow on the side of the road, or it was really really thick frost

My feet are cold!

I stopped in Bald Knob for gas, decided to take time to wire up the connection for the heated suit and gloves. I was not too cold up to then but knew I was heading into colder area as well as later night.
Gee, did you know the seat has to come off to remove the battery screws!
I'll see what I can do about that, kinda a pain taking a seat off at a gas station LOL

Controller not working great tonight for the gear, so I pluged in direct to the wire from battery and skipped the controller. Then I had mostly warm hands and could feel the heat nice in the overhauls.
My feet got cold, maybe I should have taken the time to put on the heated socks, I had them with me but hey I am tough and can take a little cold.
I'll probably have a nasty cold in morning maybe :stumped:

Really glad I made the trip, the cold was not that bad, had a great time.

Beware the dangers!
On way down on 4 lane 167 S. I found what looked like a short fire hose in the middle of my lane! 65MPH or so in traffic and there it was suddenly as a truck in front of me passed over it. Large thick solid round hose with large metal couplers on both ends.
On way home traffic was running 65mph or so, 4 lane 167 N. suddenly lots of brake lights come on and traffic nearly came to complete stop suddenly!
About half a dozen or so large pieces of firewood scattered in both our lanes.
Cars and trucks trying to straddle it or go round best they could, I just got to the far right on the shoulder and went around it!
Couple other little hazards I avoided also.

Did I mention I did not see 1 Deer on the whole trip LOL

Prayers for a speedy recovery and Prayers injuries are minor!

I had thought I was last one home and all others already home safe, until now.

Sorry I missed the gathering folks. Had to make a run to Georgia that ruined my timing. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and stay safe.

I sure would like to come down to the pie run. Monk took me to Oark this summer. I think about that place all the time. I know I have told dozens of other riders around here about it. Even though I live in Illinois A 1 and Monk said I could come back. I passed the initiation test. I left some chrome off my foot pegs on the corners. So often I had to fold them up.
