Reservation has been made for Group Campt Site E at Wyalusing State Park for Saturday September 29th. I will try to get there as early as I can on Saturday to confirm the site.

The reservation number is 2-1733453.

The only limit to the number of vehicles on site is how many bikes we can get in there! Limit of eight (8) tents. Limit o twenty(20) people.

I doubted that there would be any more than that actually camping. They do not allow generators on the site and no fire wood from out of state or more than 50 miles away is to be brought in. This is to stop the import of the Emmerald Ash Borer. Some little bug that kills trees. Seems the way these things get around is in fire wood.

There are pit and flush tiletes available exactly where they are in relation to our site I don't know.

Mespock is going to put toether our ride route again, we will hook his Wing to a big rock or something to slow him down.:cheeky1:

I decided to make the reservation early this time to make sure we got a good site instead of having to have two like in Governer Dodge. Site E was recomended by park personel. I was told that it was the nicest of the group sites and seemed to be the one most folks wanted.

This will probably be the last WildWings run this year. So if you've missed one or both of the other two make sure you make it to this one

This is a fall colors run along the banks of the Mississipi river. mespock and I are kicking around some ideas for activities/riding on Saturday for early arivals. Since this is going to likely be our last run this year we want to do it with some flair.

Reminder for Digger to put this one on his calendar now. :gunhead:

Oh sure fine... pick on my riding....:P

Prairie Du Chien has a bunch of Motels... Plus a lot of activities....

Miss Marquette Casino, very large Cabela's, antique stores abound in this area also, plus there are plenty of great restaurants (with faster service than the Rockton Bar) and other adult establishments...:cooldevil: (not sure if there are buttless people) but remember booze and bikes don't mix....

Wyalusing State Park is Wisconsin's Largest State Park and one of the best...  On Saturday night the Observatory is open and you can come and look at the starts through a very large telescope (if that interests you).

I'll do what I can to make this one, also.

Please don't count on me as a camper. I have access to a comfy bed 15 miles north of Prairie Du Chien, and I intend to use it.

Well I hope to make this one, it's on the calendar. Have a awesome buffer right now, that does love to ride, tho the ground is no place for us. We'll check out the hotel/motels around and try and stay close. Planning on a camp fire and storys into the night?

Broke: Did you ever make the "long" trip? Glad the bike is up and running again.

Dan

No, I couldn't afford the time off this year. Will be making the trip next year for sure.

I am surely going to make this one, may try and camp out, if that falls through I will be there on Sunday.

The Mrs and I were up there over the weekend at Pikes Peak SP and crossed over to the Wisconsin side and rode back. Beautiful country.

Good thing Wyalusing State Park is on top of the Bluff.  That area has been getting hit hard by rain and the towns below have been flooded so have the area roads.

But don't worry the route I'm planning for Sunday's Cruise will be worth the trip.

If anyone wants to come early on Saturday I'll set up another cruise.

If anyone doesn't mind a short run on some not too bad gravel maybe 1/2 mile we could run down and ride the Cassville Ferry (link).  Only the Iowa side has the short run on gravel.  The Ferry is about 15 to 20 miles south of Prairie Du Chien on Hwy 35. Cost is $7.00 for a motorcycle.

My plan for Sunday is a nice ride north on the Iowa side of the Mississippi then south on the Wisconsin side.  We could ride up the Wisconsin Ridge for some very scenic roads.  (oh and I'll be good).:cooldevil:

How long would you guys like the ride to be.  Issues on the Mississippi are the bridges. (No not falling bridges) just the number of bridges.  Dubuque, IA, Has 2, next bridge is the Prairie Du Chien, WI Bridge, then the Landsing, IA ( this bridge is a rush), then the LaCrosse, WI Bridge.

Here are some options for some really nice rides for Sunday. Route #1 Map Link  Route # 2 Map Link  Route #3 Map Link

On Saturday I was thinking about this short run.  Map Link

OK map links are working now.:)  I changed to Yahoo Maps...  Did this while I was getting the nice help today. Thanks wingnut and Eddie:clapper:

So go back to the cruise post and check out the rides.

I suppose I could add a choice to buzz past Digger so we can all beep and wave:waving: while he's working:cooldevil::cooldevil::cooldevil::waving:
