I certainly can sympathize with your situation.. As some of you know I am a plumbing contractor and also a general contractor, and I get quite crazy after being cooped up on the same job for too long (especially a plumbing job) . My very first house is almost done now, we passed all the final inspections yesterday, but i swear the work never ever seems to be totally done. And the more you think about going riding, the more little stuff your gonna find that still needs to be done.

I made one critical mistake and that was because I have never been satisfied with the quality of paintwork I've seen in all the houses I've been in. So, I decided I would paint the house myself. (with my mothers help (Shes 65))... anyway, there has been some form of painting going on since mid january when I first pulled out the sprayer to do the drywall priming. Let me tell you... Painting a house from scratch is not the same as just re painting a few rooms...  My words of advice... "HIRE A PAINTER"... even if they do a crappy job its pretty easy to touch up what they do wrong... Never ever Paint your house from scratch if you ever intend on having a day off..:( I feel like "eldin" from the Murphy Brown TV show. Going rate on new construction painting around here is 2 bucks a square foot, and it is well worth it to pay a crew to just get it done. I saved about $4500 by doing it myself, but it really isnt worth it at all. Pay a painter, and go enjoy the weather.

Cyote, If you need some help, I'm only a few hours and a phone call away. I can tile, I can do moulding, Trim carpentry, Plumbing, painting/ caulking , and am pretty good at sheetrock repair and touch up too... I'll be glad to come help. seriously,  I dont mind and would be glad to help a friend in need... I'll warn you though, I am nit picky/ meticulous and good enuff is just never quite good enuff for me.

If you want some free advice, PM me anytime.  (That applies to anyone by the way)... If I can help, I'll be glad to.

By all... I hear a paintbrush calling me, Still some touching up left to be done.:P

That pretty much sums it up nobbie, also being in the trades, my house falls into that catagory, "busman's holiday" as we call it here.

Wow, a lot of great offers of help folks. Thank you! However, it will all be done long before you can get here. If this job ain't finished in the next couple of weeks I'm dead and you can come party for the burning.:behead: Our first house guests for the spring start to arrive just before the end of this month, and I've been warned  about not having it done. That's why I'm sneaking out of the house tomorrow when no one is looking and ridding away on the bike. Catch me if you can-----na na nah na naaaah. :battle::blackstuff:

Well, I can understand work commitments-

But I don't necessarily have to enjoy missing a chance to shake a buddy's hand. :P

Slave on Taffy, I'll miss you at least....    Maybe we get to ride together another time? :waving:

Before modern manufacturing techniques, :bowing: shirts, and all clothes for that matter, required a lot of labour to make. :action: They were more expensive than they are today.  Someone thinking of starting a fight might take off his shirt to prevent damage.

Telling someone to "keep his shirt on" was equivalent to telling him "I don't want to fight."  :thumpingmad: .........:shakehead:  :shakehead:  :shakehead:
