The bulls are being teased daily to give them the "right Attitude" to greet you with. :cooldevil: All the cow pies will be strategically placed before your arrival.

COW PATTI
From the film "Any Which Way You Can" (1980)
(Stafford)
Jim Stafford - 1980

From the badlands came the killer,
He lived by his knife and the gun.
He'd cut you just for standing
And shoot you if you tried to run.
He was as big as a tree and did what he pleased,
And everything he did was bad.
They said, if you was to kill him,
It'd only make him mad.

From the goodlands came the cowgirl,
Patti was her name.
She was hot on the trail of that killer
On a moped she called Flame,
'Cause the killer had killed her daddy
Just for spittin' in the road,
And you only had to kill her daddy once
To get that gal p.o.'d.

CHORUS:
Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.
Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.
She rode into town
To find the man
That killed her daddy.
Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.

The killer hit town at daybreak,
Ate the door off the local saloon.
He started to drink,
You could tell there'd be a showdown soon.
Patti hit town in a cloud of dust,
Old Flame was buzzin' like a saw,
And the whole town got quiet as a church,
When the killer stepped out for the draw.

Forty shots rang out, forty people fell.
Patti and the killer missed each other,
But they shot the town to hell.
The killer took a step toward Patti,
Said, "It's time I gunned you down",
But he slipped in something
That was laying in the street,
And was shot before he hit the ground.

Yes, the killer slipped
And it cost him his life,
And Patti said, as she raced out of town,
"You got to watch your step,
When you know the chips are down."

Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.
Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.
She rode into town
To find the man
That killed her daddy.
Yippee-i-ay, Cow Patti.

or was it this song:cheeky1:

BIG BRUCE
(John H. Duffey)
(A parody of "Big Bad John")

Steve Greenberg - 1969
Country Gentlemen - 1969

SPOKEN: The folk history of America is the history of its heroes. Big workin' men like John Henry, Paul Bunyan snd Big Bad John. But today I'd like to introduce a new folk hero. He didn't work in a mine, or in a railroad, or any of those strenuous occupations. He worked in a beauty salon and his name was Bruce.........

Well ev'ry day at the salon you can see him arrive
He stood six foot six, weighed one-o-five
He's kinda narrow at the shoulders, narrow in the hips
With a curl in his hair and a smile on his lips
Big Bruce...........Big Bad Bruce

No-one seemed to know where Bruce came from
He kinda swished into town and stayed all alone
Never said much, kind o' quiet and shy
And when he spoke at all, it was just to say "Hi"
Big Bruce...........Big Bad Bruce

Same say he came from New Orleans
Where he had a social group called the Cajun Queens
Some say Hollywood or Beverly Hills
Where he got arrested for passin' three-dollar bills
That's Bruce

Then came the day o' that terrible fire
Something went wrong in the number five dryer
Into the chaos of those matronly caves
Went Big Bad Bruce, a-just a-fannin' the flames
Big Bruce...........Big Bad Brucey-Woosey

Well, the flames grew higher and the fire got worse
And someone heard Brucey cry, "Mercy, I forgot my purse!"
Into the fire with a squeal and a shout
We waited an hour, but he never came out
Poor Bruce..........Poor old Bruce

Where that salon once stood is a grocery store
But his name will live for evermore
In the annals of time and in the hall of fame
As a gay young cat who went down in flames
Big Bruce

You might say this is a big kind o' fairy tale

And yes, I have have returned home after my little trek of 3500 miles through, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas from the panhandle to Corpus Christi in the south, and Oklahoma, then back to Fort Worth TX and home to GA. OH yeah, I spent three days in the Texas hill country, and rode the triple whores, oops, I mean the three sisters. If you want to have a kidney removed you must ride the three sisters and I will assure you at least one of your kidneys will be left some where along the route. The beauty of the area is worth the loss of a kidney however. The food was good most places, and there is a Hooters in Fort Worth that  :realshocked: :blackstuff:--------just about beats the best of them. Whoooooooooooooooooooohaaaaaaaaaa. :smiler:

Warning, its starting to heat up in the southern states, get out your cooling vests and neck coolers. When the temps are over ninety and the humidity starts to rise those cooling vests and neck coolers work!

For those of you traveling I-20 this summer, its in the best shape I've seen it in for a long time. Dallas/Fort Worth freeways are full of pot holes and junk as always but the Texas country roads are in good shape most places with 70 mph posted, even the majority of two lane country roads. So, stay off in the boondocks while in Texas and you'll have a ball and make the same speed you would do on the freeway or better. However, watch out if it says "open range" cows are tough on a bike at 70.

One other item, if you get to the Dallas Fort Worth area, the city of Grapevine is well worth a visit to Main St downtown. Always a festival going on and some great Biker bar and food places catering to bikers. Yup, special parking for bikes right out front on main street too.

If you've not visited Corpus Christi, do so if you get the chance. It is a very pretty place but look for motel coupons at the tourist centers if you plan on moteling it anywhere the beaches. Very costly. Note, most motel/hotel coupons do not apply to Saturday nights. So get off the beach area for Saturdays and you'll find cheaper rates.

Special Note for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been my experience that a hotel chain called, "Americas Best Value Motels" are trash. Nasty, dirty, worn out, paint peeling, moldy showers, and carpet so nasty you want to wear you shoes to bed. I tried more than one of these motels and never again. I thought the first of was one of a kind but they seem to be cloned. I still say that Best Westerns are better than most even though they can cost and extra ten bucks a night over some others, but they are now catering to bikers. Second on my list of good value motels is Holiday Inn Express but most do not have parking in front of your room if you are on a bike, like most Best Westerns do.

OK, have a ball out there and ride safe. I've been grounded for the next couple of weeks while I tend to visitors and Ranch things, then I hope to be back out looking for you along the roads. :waving:

BlackGW, I cannot tell a lie. We were under remodeling construction here for almost 4 months on a three week job. Thanks to my wife, the boss lady, it is done except for a few small finishing touches. They were getting ready to lock me up a couple of weeks ago, darned sheriff was even parked at the door  My wife said, I think he's ready to blow we better get him out of town and I did, out of town that is. :D Fired off the big blue bitch and rode out of town with cruise set at 85 and did not get off except for gas for three states. Then had a couple of five finger martini's, had a good night sleep and felt like a free man again the following morning and headed on into Fort Worth to my brothers house, where more martini's were waiting:cooldevil: From there on it was ride, rest, and ride some more. Upon arriving home here in GA the remodeling was finished and looking beautiful. As always, the boss lady saved my butt again. When you come visit I'll tell you the rest of the story about contractors. :cussing:

Motorcycle Pete wrote: Well, yes, Pete, we'll have to get you and Helen down into the lowland, swampy bits, in order to see a "gator"! :cheeky1:  I'm fairly sure there are no gators, north of Atlanta; they are not known to inhabit the southern reaches of the Appalachian Mountains....

If we do get you over to the coast (I've heard that Charleston South Carolina is lovely, and it's not very far away), we'll be sure to haul some gators out of the marshes, just so you can both say that you've seen one!

Atlanta GA, is also, in my memory, quite an interesting place, so, with a little research, it is no doubt worth at least a day or two..... if you do get to downtown Atlanta, watch out for the Peach Trees....they are considered a national blight ....everything is "Peach this" and "Peach that"- if "Peach" is in an address you're looking for, you are, well, quite buggered, mate.....as there will be ten thousand addresses, with "Peach" in it!  Once again, I apologise to my beloved friends from Georgia.....y'all are great, and yes, I'm just having fun!  (OK, you can beat me with a stick, at a later date, ok?). :cheeky1:

I realise this was posted some time ago but I love peaches, would it be a little past harvest time for the peaches though? :D

Of course not! The more the merrier.

If you are serious about going, PM Cyote61 and let him know. Also check out the Group rate for Country Inn In Calhoun or if you are camping there is probably space available at Cyote's ranch :)

Coyote I'm glad you enjoyed your twisted sisters ride...but what about the kidneys ??????, the only thing I ever felt like I had lost there was my bladder being too full and come up on a really deep dip in the road.....If the roads on the sisters need work, I have a brother thats with the State Highway Dept, He's a supervisor over road construction......and I'll fire a note off to him to see if we can get any problems fixed on the twisted sisters......before some one loses a kidney.....

Had I know you were coming thru here I would have made arrangements to meet with you, and if nothing else bought you dinner, and a Texas size martini.....Maybe next time you run away from home, there are several of us in this area that would have loved to seen you........

The county I live in is "The Peach Capital of the World."  More peaches per capita than any place on earth.  I used to work summers in the packing sheds.  You can still get Alberta(the biggest and most juicy) peaches harvested into September, but usually early Sept.  You might get lucky enough to get some fresh ones while you're here.

Well Helen- if you do manage to find a "proper one", be forwarned that it is much like eating Mangos or Bananas in the tropics, where they are grown and harvested fresh.

Immediately after biting into one (no effort involved, I promise) you will be saying "Oh...my....GOD!" :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

They say that Mangos are best eaten, up to your neck in the tropical surf....I suspect the same may be true of  Peaches  in the southeast? :dude:

Don't worry; if you find yourself swimming in sweetness, from head to foot, we promise not to look......;)  A girl deserves her privacy, after all..... :waving:
