I really don't care for "regions" or president type of thing. We have had a few MNG 's put together by Broke. Turned out great. A good time was had by all. The one we are planning now up at mespocks looks to be just as fun.

I think the person who decides to have a MNG is the Pres. for that meet. Like ours in July, mespock is in charge and if he needs anything he knows that me, broke, or a number of others are more than happy to help. As for expenses goes, I think if there is a "reserve" fee for camping spots, meeting spots, what-ever. The person organizing the MNG should ask for money from those planning to attend on a nonrefundable basis. The more that attend the better..

Just my $0.02 worth :waving:

I think that no matter where it happens that one thing most would agree that it would be great to have Steve there. So what I would like to suggest just to entice him to show is that the members on this side of the pond kick in a bit each and pay for his flight. For the first annual meet anyway.I also wouldn't have a problem kicking in some cash to help cover the costs of the meet, even if I can't make it.Within reason, only because it is possible that some members may never make it no matter where it is.

as much as i dont like the idea of an "elected official"  , i have to agree that some form of leadership is need for a large gathering.  i will donate whatever time and help, both financial and physical, that i can.  please dont ask for mental help from me.:cheeky1:  i believe that no matter where it is held,  its a grand idea.  count me in.  if it is a cyote61 place,  i can probably come up in advance to help set up if needed.  just let us know.

No I doubt mespock had the idea for it to be a nation wide MNG.. I was stating that since it was his idea for a bunch of us to get togher it is his baby is all.

I am by no means wanting to try to pull the rug out from under your idea Cyote :waving:  I think you have a great idea and was just using mespocks beach party as a template so to speak :action:

I'm not an electable person. I'm retired! :P And, I've got more bones in my closets than you'd find in a mass grave in Somalia.:realshocked:

There will however be a need for a district rep or region rep from each. No need for formal election, just find someone that wants to be it. (That ain't me either, I'm retired) ;)

I know I am on the wrong side of the pond, but here are my ingrediants for a good Meet up.......

Location

Dates

camping and motel options, for those that like either.

sufficient toilet facilities

fun. :D

Everything else can be brought by each individual , to suit their own needs.

Wexman organised a brilliant Meet in Ireland this last Summer and he kept it nice and simple and laid back, having set up the agreed camp site, he organised some run outs, since he is familiar with the area, and led us on to the Treffen that most of us went to the weekend after. Other than that he left us to enjoy each other's company and choose to do what we liked.

If you can wade through the usual banter, you will see that the one planned for Wales this summer is much the same, and a visit to Tanygaer's mini site will give you an idea of how much needs to be planned and how much should be just fun off the cuff stuff.

Not trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, just offering my point of view..... as usual!!!!!:cheeky1::cheeky1::waving:

Have fun and above all did i mention have fun!!!!!!!:banana:

You referred to the job Wexman did as "brilliant" - IMHO that is just what this formula is.

Cyote61, thank you for your generous offer to have people come to your house for a gathering. Anyone that makes an offer like this deserves a lot of credit. :clapper: Quite a ride from my place to yours, but if it comes together I'll try to limp my bike all the way there.

Well if you can "limp" it there, we will see if Rudy can bring the glue gun, torch and duct tape to get you back home:cooldevil::cooldevil:

Well Coyote everyone else has so i will pop in with a slice of advice that was given when I decided to put together a little soire.

Just do it. I was told tha tif you wait aroudn to get enough opinions and input to please everyone you will be waitin around for the rest of your life. Just pick a place, pick a date and post it.

People will show up, and even if it's only a handful the first time if everyone has a good time the attendence will at least double the next time.

And for what it's wort, if you manae to throw a shindig this year at your place I'll fire up the old war horse and see if she'll make te trip.

Be nice if it were a central location around Kansas then the trip distance  from the coasts would be a bit easier to pay for.
