-3 is spring, -4 is fall. Odd spring, even fall. But I knew what you meant. Just concerned about off time and costs for two events that close together for some.

You all know it all depends on how mother nature decided to treat us. I've riden the rockies in Oct and nothing but beautiful weather and I've done it and got snowed on. Two years ago I rode the high country up to 11,000 foot passes during the entire month of Oct and only the very last week did it start to turn cold.
I can move this up to the middle of Sept, or the following week if it will help some of those that want to come, but don't have me do it unless you really plan on coming. Please. And since when did any of you ever not ride in a little rotten weather? We are talkin wing riders here aren't we? Or did I slip over into a Harley forum by mistake.
So far the input has been great. I'm trying to pick the best time and weather for everyone, but it's not gonna be perfect for everyone. Hell we could have one of them there hurrykanes and then we'd be up a creek, but I got a boat.

I just ran the idea past the boss, said "if we somehow end up being able to afford it, what would you think of me riding to the East coast next Sept, Oct.?" She says, "would you be riding alone?" I say, "probably would be riding with someone at least part of the way". She says, "if we can afford it, go for it". Got the boss' approval, so now all I need is for some $$ to rain down from heaven and my employer to allow me to take at least 2 weeks consecutively, and I'm there. Got lots of vacation hours, just gotta get them to let me take them.
What do you say exavid, wanna take a 6000 mile road trip?

Are you guys saying that it might be sunny in September or October? I might have to shelve any ideas of coming over for this one, if there isn't going to be torential rain, we Brits just don't know how to handle dry roads and sunshine!!!!

Preferance would be the Oct date, but Sept may work out as well. I'll need to know soon as I have already picked my 1st round of holidays(Aug 16-Sept7) and the 2nd round is coming up very soon.

Don't know my schedule yet but sept or oct in northern GA sound like a good time.
Count me in unless something big comes up.

It may be obvious by now but I'll be there in some form or another and likely most of the SERRASJ gang will be too as most have already indicated.
Bad part is if Jluvs2dive and others make the long trek, we won't have any excuse in the future years when it's out west for not showing up.

Does everyone think we need a poll to finalize the date? The NW folks are wanting to come, at least some, but I don't want to rush into a date unless we are ready. Holding off a week or so is not a problem is people need to check with the boss and others. This thing looks like it could be a bang up rally if we work on it and we've got time to do it right.

OK, here is a scattering of information for everyone and I’ll get into real detail a little later.
- We are located just 45 miles south of Chattanooga TN and 85 miles North of Atlanta GA. We are off at EXIT-312 on Interstate-75 and 5 miles East from that exit on Hwy-53. Great location to Everything.
- Coming from West Coast you can take the Southern Route I-10 to I-20, or you can come over on I-40.
- If you are coming from B. C. or North West you can choose lots of routes over to like Saint Louis and then drop south through Nashville and stay on I-24 into Chattanooga picking up I-75 there.
- Coming down from Ohio just jump on I-75 and run straight South and from North East make your way down to I-81 and head for Knoxville TN then catch I-40 to I-75.
- The weather is normally in the low 80’s about this time of year and lows in the 50’s. Starts to get a little cooler every 30 minutes as you head north on the back roads into the mountains from the ranch. Sept and Oct here are normally very dry months.
- Lodging. If you are moteler’s then there are dozens of motels around the 312- Exit just 6 miles from the ranch. From Cheap motels to places like the Hampton Inn and Comfort Suites. You’ll have a full list to choose from.
- Food is in the same area, from Steak houses to every fast food type place back here in GA.
- If you camp we have tons of lawn and trees here. Water is available also and a fair amount of electric. We have lots of shelter to get under from the rain, plenty of BBQ’s and restrooms. There is no mud, all roads are paved.
- The Swimming pool will be open but is not heated. It should still be plenty warm in September. We will have other games set up as well as we have a pool room with one table.
- We have one full hookup RV space, 100 Amp, water and sewer. We have plenty of Space for all RV’s that may come but it will be dry camping with plenty of water you can fill with.
- Outdoor patio with BBQ’s and fireplace with plenty of wood if we have cool evening.
In town (Calhoun) there are wal-mart, K-mart, radio shack, and outlet mall and lots of other places but it is just a small country town.

Looks like a great Idea.. I noticed that I was mentioned and want everyone to know that there is no offence with this meed and what I already have planned.
What I have planned is something that I've done for the last few years with other friends and just opened it up to this site as I really like the people here and what they have done for me so far.
Personally I can't make a last summer or early autumn meet as I am a teacher and my weekend days off are scheduled. (10 more year before I can take retirement and the bike can't wait. LOL).
Cyote you have a great idea and my hat is off too you on getting something like this rolling. What you are going to find is that the great people you meet in this forum will help you as you make your plans. There is a cost but most people understand that you are not the source of all their food or lodging. I also agree that there is no need for elected officials... I'm sure Cyote61 is able as anyone to pull this off....
Good Luck.. remember this... do this meet with an open mind and no expectations if you want to have fun.... We are all motorcyclist and love our bikes and love to ride. What matters is we love to ride. Having a place to ride to only make the ride more exciting. Having great people like those here in this forum makes the ride even better.

Looks like I wandered in after everyone elses neurons were already exhaused. Glad that I did because mine were already worn out. Anyway sounds like a great idea Cyote. It will give me anoughter excuse to wander over to the otherside of the hill this year! I will be there if it happens. Cyote if you need me to come down a day early to help set anything up just let me know. My back is still pretty good.

Dusty,

Hmmm...Sounds like a road trip is in order. Chattanooga is only a day's ride south.
Once the date is set I will put it on my calendar.

| I just did a mapquest search. I am in central Illinois. Right in the center of the state. Calhoun, Ga. is only 591 miles. Depending on the date and if work will allow. I think a trip there would be great. I know several members are from the mid west. Maybe we could meet up and travel in groups.

I've run up to Cinci many times in 6 and half hours. The Kentucky troops ain't to fond of me tho.
